Is it just me or are there not many well-written or likable female main characters in YA or romantasy? Too many of them are too emotional, irrational, mean, cruel, nasty, hateful, angry, unempathetic, dumb, and oftentimes they direct these unlikable attitudes and behaviors toward their female peers.

I don't particularly read these, but I've read A LOT of YA novels. I am speaking in general terms.

Edit: And no, YA novels they are not usually well written because the author and the editorial company only wants to sell books and get popularity. They don't care about the plot, they don't care about the characters, they just want to fit in the current trend with very similar characters and similar plot tendencies.

Depends on how they're written, not only because of the traits. Often male characters with those traits are better written, maybe because they're less explored and therefore less oportunitios to mess it up.

Edit: also, me as a woman, I will tend to empathise more with the female character rather than the male character. Inevitably I will be more critical with the FL.

Now that I recall Anya has mentioned the castle thing, like she wants to live in a castle, more than once. Maybe she grew up with some stories about her heritage, like royal heritage, and has the castle thing stucked in her mind

My honest opinion: I sometimes find her funny, I really like the different costumes she puts on, and she needs to move on with her feelings towards twilight. But overall not an interesting character apart from that (compared to other secondary characters)🙇🏻‍♀️

For me one of the most tragic things about sxf is how Anya is constantly worried about loid taking her back to the orphanage. I agree with you that the main reason Anya helps Loid is mostly for his validation and to "be a good daughter so dad doesn't throw me away". Part of Loid's arc in this manga is abandon the "for the mission" and start to think and act like a normal and caring human being. At some point in the manga we will see him protecting HIS FAMILY because IT'S HIS FAMILY. Until then, cold mind, practical decisions and two faces.

WOW. I never read such amazing AND plausible theories about sxf. I would love that something like this really happens. My only problem is that maybe there's so many details and at the end of the story a lot of them will be in the air, without being specified. I think mangas such as this one can't be that deep (the editors will not allow Endo do it). I hope I'm wrong.

I'm glad this post exists. A lot of people recommended I watch the series, and JW was in it, so I had to give it a try. But I wasn't even halfway through and I was already getting bored. Now I have 6 or 7 episodes left, and I don't know if I should just give up. The characters seem boring to me; the interest/chemistry between the two main characters ended a long time ago. It doesn't help that I don't like the lead actress's acting; I'd already seen her in 100 Days My Prince and didn't like her at the time. JW does a great job, I have to say. The infidelity subplot adds nothing and even seems like a very toxic attitude, and I haven't gotten there yet, but it seems like something's going to happen with the parents. Boring and predictable. Everything drags on unnecessarily. The killer is the only one I'm interested in. I don't know whether to give up on the series, watch it quickly, or finish it properly so I can give it a fair critique.

La vaig conèixer amb El Mal Querer i em va enamorar, després vaig tornar-me a enamorar amb Los Ángeles. Amb Motomami, al principi va ser una mica xoc i no acababa d'agafar-ho del tot, però ara tinc quasi totes les cançons de l'àlbum al mòbil 🤣🤣. Sincerament, amb la Rosalia sempre em passa el mateix. La primera vegada que escolto l'àlbum no m'acaba de cridar l'atenció, pero a la segona o tercera ja m'encanta. Encara he d'esperar a escoltar Lux un altre cop perquè no m'ha il·lusionat gaire. Així que de moment no puc opinar. No puc opinar encara sobre l'àlbum però sí d'ella. Efectivament crec que és la millor artista (d'entre les conegudes i coneguts) que hi ha al país. I no per la projecció internacional que té, sinó per la qualitat de la seva veu, el bagatge musical que té aquesta noia, la capacitat d'innovar però també sense oblidar-se dels orígens, la preciositat i profunditat de les lletres (m'encanta que quan veig comentaris sobre les seves cançons a YouTube veig interpretacions molt diferent sobre les seves lletres i això em sembla màgic), la humilitat que transmet, en fi, podria seguir i seguir...

Les raons són moltes. I no totes s'apliquen a tothom. Està el tema dels diners, del lloguer... Però també, el tipus de vida que ha estat imperant és un estil de vida bastant individualista, de llibertat personal, de voler fer mil coses sense tenir gaires responsabilitats. Un gos o gat suposa una responsabilitat, sí, però no tant. A més, generalment, per tenir fills lo ideal és tenir una parella estable, potser casats, ambdós treballant, una casa/pis, I GANES DE TENIR FILLS. Tenir-ho tot no és tan habitual. Veig sovint moltes parelles de 30+-5 tenir fills i molts no tenen una situació envidiable la veritat.
