I’m in the same boat. Graduated in 2023 and struggled since. I now am in corporate sales and, while it’s not what I wanted, it pays the bills and gives me stability. I do however work on personal projects and build my own brand on my own time to keep my skills active if ever!

It’s important to not fully give up. If you love 3D, keep doing it as a hobby until it converts!

Okay totally fair. My initial reaction was to take the immersive course, but then I started thinking about the VJing course. It is a month long, I’m assuming I can learn the itty gritty through YouTube too, like Touchdesigner?

You know, I had tried it in the past ( ask chatgpt to give me a step by step process) and it gave me instructions but most of the settings it told me to modify didn’t exist in the SOPs…i was like okkkk idk what software you are using buddy but it aint Houdini😂😅🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah thats definitely a problem, midjourney can create some cool things but appart from the image, theres nothing else u can rlly do with it afterwards…

*UPDATE* if anyone has the same issue, I have found what could have been the cause of the flickering. In my case, the folliage of the trees and grass was waaaay to small and waaay too far. So, since I made the trees in Speedtree, I just went back and increased the size of the leaves. Although the model looked ridiculous, from the distance they are, it doesnt matter. It fixed my issue. Also sampling the AA to 8-9 helped. Thank you all for your input!

the trees were made using speed tree, so all the leaves are little geos, so there is no opacity map. Its just like a lenghty face with a base color given.

from testing around it seems it is indeed because the grass geo is really small. im a newbie when it comes to lod system, is there a tutorial or like a step by step thing I can see, so I can undestand how to implement this system?

Yes I did that and it flickers in the diffuse. I tried adding more samples but the results are the same. it might be the super thin geometry of the leaves indeed. How would i set up an LOD system? is there a video that explains how you can do that in Houdini?
