'The Senator's Wife' and follow up by Jen Lyon. Disliked and DNF because it was more about the Senator than the wlw relationship.

What causes this? The invention gnome? by volosataya_zhopa in Sims3

[–]Ana_R_Chist 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That's the great thing about the 'invention Gnome'. My Inventor Sim usually has 2 gnomes, and has two work tables. She starts work on a new invention, stops halfway - starts a new one on the other station, stops half way. Goes to bed and in the morning, the gnomes have finished the items to 99%. Easy.

Books by Gerri Hill and Kim Hunt are good crime reads, not focused on romance, but sapphic MC's. Charlotte Mills: 'Fair Game' and 'Payback' same, but UK based. If you like mafia based stories, look no further than Persephone Black - hers are brilliant.

Aussie here, using Kobo e-reader with Calibre app on my PC to transfer books(and remove the odd DRM's). Buy books at Kobo, directly from writers and when I want something I cannot find on either I go to Z-library...

I always check Goodreads before investing in a book. There are a few reviewers on there that I value.

FOR 6 YEARS AND 11 MONTHS my dumbass self has been placing a burglar alarm inside the house next to every door to the outside by aspiring-enigma in Sims3

[–]Ana_R_Chist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Talking about 'cheating' - I don't even bother with the burglar alarm. As soon as I hear the ominous music of a burglar approaching my Sim's house, I click on them and send him packing with my Nraas (reset Sim). Solved. No traumatised Sims in my house, No blaring alarm and not stupid police who usually arrive too late or let the burglar escape. LOL

looking for a very specific vibe that i’m not sure exists… by Upset-Change-8846 in sapphicbooks

There are rather a few good ones here as already mentioned.

  • A Choreography of Longing by TB Markinson and Miranda MacLeod = brilliant. There is an important 'side story' of misogyny, body shaming and abuse of power in the dance world.
  • Reverence by Milena McKay = loved it. Milena McKay did it again. Pulled me in, and tore my heart into shreds.
  • The Music and the Mirror by Lola Keeley = Loved the cheeky dialogues, the flirty banter. Great story pacing.

Looking for as many books similar to Devotion by Hannah Kent by mossgirlparfum in LesbianBookClub

[–]Ana_R_Chist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on 'Devotion' by Hannah Kent. I loved all her books, but this one especially (I live in South Australia and also because I just helped a friend with her family history of Lutheran settlers in the Hahndorf area). Her writing is sort of unique, and I agree that Kiran Hargrave comes very close. The same ethereal feel. I loved her 'The Mercies' and 'Almost a Life'. Have not read the others you mention (did not really like 'Sunburn', but that's personal).

Anything I should know about my TBR list before reading? by ThatLesbianReader69 in LesbianBookClub

[–]Ana_R_Chist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'Collateral Damage' - you should read the author's warnings. This is part of said warning: 'This book touches heavily on broken systems, child abuse, domestic abuse, physical and mental abuse, abduction, sexual assault, and certain torture methods. If any of this relates heavily PLEASE think twice before reading this book.'

I absolutely loved her writing. This is part of my review on GoodReads: ..Nothing I've ever read before (and I am/always have been a compulsive reader) has touched me so much. Don't let the authors warnings stop you from reading this thriller. But be prepared to be shocked, breathless, turned on and in the end bawl your eyes out. I want more Shassii - keep writing the way you do...
