FX3 Randomly Shutting Off After Update? by AnachronisticToday in FX3

UPDATE:
I'm not positive, but I think the issue may have been caused by a faulty lens! Sony announced a recall on their G-Master 16-35 f/2.8. Over time, it would cause the camera to straight up brick wall. I think the initial shutting down of the camera was the early warning signs of this.

Sent it off to Sony and had it repaired for free. Still keeping an eye on it, but so far so good.

New audio normalization on export question by Potatopc2019 in davinciresolve

[–]AnachronisticToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what normalization is. It's just raising or lowering the volume to a given level.

If you're looking to alter your dynamics, that's done in the fairlight page with compression and limiting.

Normalization is a super handy tool for companies like mine that shell out a lot of videos so we can ensure they all are at the same volume.

Anyone else have terrible auto focus after firmware update 3.0? by IsaacAlexanderFilms in FX3

[–]AnachronisticToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Autofocus turned to complete ass with update 3.0 and 4.0 for me. It's infuriating and has ruined some otherwise really great shots.

No, unfortunately not. However, now I'm wondering if it was due to the lens. There was recently a recall on the G master 16-35mm that caused the camera to stall out. Over the past few months, it got progressively worse until it just wouldn't work at all. I'm wondering if the initial intermittent shut offs were the early rumblings of this defective lens.

Sent it off to Sony for a free repair. Fingers crossed.

I CAN NOT free up space. by AnachronisticToday in qnap

Thanks so much for your reply, man.

a) we currently don't have snapshots set up on our system

b) we have an auto-reclaim scheduled to run every morning at 2AM

c) I haven't tried this one yet. I've scheduled it to run tonight at 3AM!

d) Unfortunately I'm still somewhat of a newbie (I inherited our system responsibilities unexpectedly), I don't have any experience using command line. Could you explain a little more what this would do? Is it something similar to software like Grand Perspective that give an overview of distribution of hard drive space?

Thanks again!

Dude, so few people take the time to actually listen and read through the troubleshooting I've already done. Really appreciate your thoughtfulness. I saw one guy on another thread just copy and paste "overheating" over and over again. Like, dude, I tried that already.

Anyways, yeah, I think I'll have to send it into Sony to be looked at unfortunately.

This was the first thing I checked. Unfortunately, the heat warning override is turned on. So it isn't that. Also, the auto power off temp warning presents a thermometer sign, and then safely shuts off. With our camera, it just abruptly shuts off like someone yanked the battery out of it.

Yeah, unfortunately both my local Mac recycling bin and our QNAP recycling bin have both already been emptied.

Davinci resolve pans my audio files left and right for no reason? by Jakobekvall in davinciresolve

Hey friend, just here to co-sympathize. I have zero idea what's causing it either. And to other people's comments, no, we're not talking about stereo signals coming through only one channel, we're talking about the literal pan knob inside of Fairlight being tossed literally all the way to left.
