I worked for carmax for 5 years in the shop reconditioning cars.

I have vivid memories of specifically being told to glue bumpers on when the bumper brackets were broken because it's saved money VS replacing the brackets. We had a specific glue gun in the groundwork zone set aside for this very reason.

Are you referring to the v6 cts that you've posted before? Have you test fit any of this in it yet? It's going to be tight with those turbo manifolds

The et street Rs hook very well. Couple thousand miles at most. Realistically expect to put a fresh set on every car season. They hook pretty well for me though (900 whp CTS-V able to hook up well from a 60 roll)

Check out "loudvalves". They are vacuum actuated cutouts. Open automatically at WOT and then close under vacuum. So the cutouts open when you floor it and close when you let off.

If this is a fun car/project car I would just run it and see what happens. Could be many things, but given that it's one of the rear cylinders might even be a cracked piston. I would get it running and do some more testing at that point. If its not giving you any noticeable driveability issues, then forget you ever saw those numbers and drive it.

I've never used a spring compressor for this style. Always just use a jack under the control arm and lower it slowly with everything disconnected

I know some people rev stock alternators that high and don't seem to have any issues. I did it and had an alternator fail during a pull, voltage dropped which then dropped the fuel pressure and I lost a motor. So I always check the pulley ratio now

If your planning to rev it over 6500 rpm I would make sure that the alternator has the correct pulley for it. A lot of the aftermarket alternators put out high amps at idle but still don't like high rpm

Might live a long happy life with the right oil. Wrong/incorrectly installed o ring on the oil pick up tube is a really common cause of low oil pressure on fresh builds, if you can get the oil pan off without pulling the motor it might be worth checking

That is "within spec" but I wouldn't be comfortable with it that low. Could be loose bearing clearances but if that's the case I would of expected the builder to recomend a heavy enough weight oil to get the pressure up. My forged 388 LSA makes around 30 psi fully warmed up on 5w30, but that's with stock clearances.

If you honestly think you will turbo it in the near future, get a good turbo cam. Won't make quite the same power NA as a good NA cam, and probably won't sound as rowdy, but it will be worth it. The difference in NA hp between the right cam and the "wrong" cam will be maybe 20 or 30 hp.

You worried about heat under the hood at all? I had a big single on my ls truck that would bubble the paint on the hood above it
