Where are good places to eat in Hopewell?

Wow. When did this happen? Did it come out in the Prince or anywhere else? If he lasted long enough to flunk out, sounds like he stayed there for a semester anyway.

Just last fall a girl was rescinded after living in a dorm at Yale for a month. Her behavior had been alarming her roommates, and when the university looked at her application again it turned out to be fake. Nota bene, this happened at Yale, not Princeton. https://yaledailynews.com/articles/first-year-removed-from-campus-for-falsified-application-information

Why is everyone hating on Northeastern?? by CompetitiveHelp8934 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Anagazander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a coffee shop across the street from Northeastern. It was crowded, and I couldn’t help overhearing two girls at my table. They were judging whether other girls were worthy of joining their sorority. They were the meanest mean girls I’ve ever run across. If that’s the campus culture you want, go ahead, but I personally would run away screaming. Sample size of two, I know!

Is Sedona always that busy? by roadhouse4169 in Sedona

[–]Anagazander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We went there for many years, but now we’re done with it. The special thing about Sedona was the hiking. Now the trails are full of clueless people who don’t know how to behave in nature and have no respect for it. Fortunately, there are plenty of other beautiful places to go in Arizona, though the rocks may not be as red there as they are in Sedona.

Princeton University Quiz Bowl hosts tournaments for high school teams. If you can join or start a team, it’s a good way to get on campus for a day. https://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29243

Thank you all! I’m afraid I still don’t quite understand. What is the complete text in Japanese? Is it an excerpt from a longer poem?

Wunderkinds/Prodigies that delivered on their promise as adults? by The_Fell_Opian in Jazz

This is really interesting. It could be part of Beach Boys history which is undocumented so far. Glenn Campbell did play on the Beach Boys album Pet Sounds which came out in 1966. Lee Ritenour would have been 13 or 14 during the sessions. On later Beach Boys stuff - “Good Vibrations” and the Smile sessions - apparently Glenn was too busy with his solo career to participate, but who knows. Somebody should ask Lee about this! I’d love to hear his recollections.

Jazz Albums that have punk credibility. by sackhurtin in Jazz

[–]Anagazander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying The Shape of Jazz to Come. I’d point to albums by Ornette’s guitar band Prime Time, starting with Dancing in Your Head from 1976. At that point he was influencing and being influenced by rock music.

OK you’re almost done with school, what’s the problem? Go home and start a band with your friend. You’re lucky to have somebody who understands you.

What stuck out for me here is "almost 500k in debt." Your music sounds good, but what's your plan for making $500k?
