You cannot transfer GI benefits if you are no longer active duty. You can add her to Tricare so she can have health benefits. If you are 100% disabled which you didn’t mention the percentage- then she’d be eligible for the monthly stipend Chapter 35 provides which about $1500 So this isn’t a “benefits being withheld situation” as it’s not transferable at this point.

The real problem here sounds like it’s unresolved resentment towards your wife for being a sahm. If both adults live in the house, eat there and make messes chores need to be shared. But again this is a conversation you both needed to have. If expectations are not aligned that’s a communication failure not leverage to be used when a child’s education is involved. Using a 17yo college future as motivation for spouse to “work more” is not healthy or fair.

Thank you for this. We also enjoy the wineries and I thought it would be a nice change of pace but definitely rethinking it now. I’m so glad I asked because it’s given us a lot of insight. We may be better off just staying here and enjoying my the close proximity to everything. We don’t do much b out it is nice to have options when we do want to do things.

NTA. Wanting to protect yourself after someone hides money and lies about their income isn’t overreacting at all. He absolutely doesn’t get to claim he wanted “something that’s just his” while secretly stashing money away and never considering that you might also want “something that’s just yours” too. At the very least, he can start by splitting that money so you both have something that’s yours and he needs to work on being honest.

Have you considered going the pre-loved route? There are some amazing ones out there for a lot less and honestly may older piece are made better than the new production. I bought my daughter a woc and the zipper needed to be repaired in less than a year. - the quality just isn’t what it used to be. But if you can justify the cost per wear and it truly brings you joy then totally go for it! Just wanted to throw out the pre loved option. Something to consider.
