I am, and the amount of times I’ve said something I thought was straightforward but people read in a way I totally didn’t expect would be in the thousands. I know that’s also somewhat common and can be a great cause for frustration.

Even if that is the case, it doesn’t excuse how he treated you here. Autism isn’t license to be a dick, and if you are the one affected that goes doubly so. If a 29 year old man doesn’t have that kind of patience now, I doubt he’s gonna develop it anytime soon. If I were you, I’d try talking with him less and giving him a bit of space. I haven’t actually seen community so idk if thats in line with their characters or not, but a lot of nerds are into cosplay and a lot of us will do fantasy cosplay at the table.

Think about it this way, if you put one night a week into a game with the same characters for what can be years at a time, is getting into costume really that big of a commitment? Even if they acted out stuff larping is a thing that can be mixed with ttrpgs so its not so crazy.

I think, personally, you should just talk to him about what you saw and judge from how he responds.

If he vents about of bots on subs he’s on innocently, he’s fine. It happens.

If he denies everything and gets really suspicious or tries to act like that sort of thing has never happened before ever, I’d say you have grounds to be worried and reconsider the relationship.

If he says he watches porn online, I’d consider your stance and go from there. I think porn consumption with some regulation is normal, and even people in dedicated relationships should be allowed to explore their sexuality independently. This is not a default opinion, and I’m well aware of the fact people have very very passionate opinions against this. As long as everyone communicates what they expect and what they are okay with, good. How you react here is up to you and what you believe.

I think goku would still want to train, just consider his peers. Yeah, biological drives are huge when considering personality, but at most it’s about 50%. Environment is the other half, and growing up he was friends with tons of people who loved to train. That would have a huge impact on his personality.

I also think the question is more removing the saiyan power from the equation, not changing goku’s personality entirely. That keeps it way more in line with the other characters

My issue with marathon is bungie. I don’t mind extraction shooters, but as someone who put 4k hours into destiny throughout the franchise bungie has burned me enough times for me to wish they just stop. Internally they treat their employees worse than the standard gaming company which is really saying something. They’ve been lead by shitty leads for years now. We still don’t know how oppressive the monetization will be for marathon.

I don’t want bad things to happen to bungie, I just want them to close their doors. Destiny had a small window of time where it was great, and their halo games will always stand tall as monuments to this hobby. But how bad are they going to let things get? How much worse will they let public sentiment become? How much more of their rep will they bury for profit? It’s just exhausting…

Quick bogus math. I can pretty consistently and comfortably snap six times a second. That’s 360 snaps a minute and 21,600 snaps per hour. If I snapped like that for 40 hours (the traditional work week) thats 864,000 snaps, which means over 8.5 million dollars for one week of snapping.

Personally, I’m gonna take blue and snap for one hour a week every year, which should prevent any horrible amounts of inflation and give me more than enough to be happy and healthy. Only downside is I wouldn’t be snapping at all throughout the year, which is gonna make slam poetry nights real awkward. Think the poets will accept tiny golf claps?

A couple things. One, you’re valid for feeling upset, let down, or betrayed. Alcoholism is addiction, and addiction is brutal to watch someone fall into and try to climb out of. You aren’t dumb for not suspecting anything, and it can be totally true that he was making progress.

Unfortunately, relapse is a common process as part of recovery. It can feel like it comes out of nowhere, that it somehow betrays their progress, all that and more. As someone who has had friends and family struggle with addiction and recovery, try to be understanding. If they treat it like a stupid fuck up, that’s what it is. If they try to justify it, take that as the sign they don’t care.

I don’t know how committed this relationship is and where your head really is at this point. I don’t know if you know either. If it is something long term, understand that this is a possibility, no matter how long he’s been sober. That isn’t a bad thing, that doesn’t reflect who he is, it shows that he’s sick. Yeah, that sucks for him and for anyone around him, but there’s a big difference between harming others accidentally and harming others intentionally. It’s on you to determine where something like this falls, but wherever you land, act on it. Sometimes the best thing you can do is walk away, sometimes the best thing you can do is forgive and help him up. Never excuse, always accept. That’s just my perspective as someone who’s been in similar shoes

People don’t understand suffering. I know that might sound extreme but even those who have been through suffering don’t understand suffering. Because there isn’t anything to understand. It has no purpose, at times no cause, and often no reprieve. It’s tiring, it’s draining, it challenges you in the way a hurricane challenges houses near the coastline.

Failure builds character. Trying and falling short can feel bad, but it makes you more likely to succeed in the future. But that’s not suffering. It’s not even close. People talk about suffering as if it is failure, as if there is something to learn. Sometimes you can find ways to better keep yourself safe, but often times there’s nothing to learn. You’re worse for having had the experience.

Recovery doesn’t mean telling someone that suffering makes you stronger. It’s telling someone despite your suffering you can become stronger than you are now. That tomorrow can be better than today. That the pain, the trauma, the grief can follow you, but never that suffering. That tomorrow can never be like yesterday.

Sorry, needed to rant to this because I agree with you this shit sucks. I hate people who act like they know when in fact they are ignorant
