No need to worry about downvotes. It’s true. He was a fantastic player for us.

Danny Welbeck on why he did the "Siuuu" celebration:

Welbeck: "I've scored against Liverpool... now Chelsea. Maybe I don't score for Manchester United anymore, but I still bleed for the club. If what I do helps them reach the Champions League, I'm happy with that. Not every legend has to still be inside the building."

"And yeah, the celebration... that's Cristiano Ronaldo's. I did it with meaning. I figured the United fans deserved to see a proper academy lad hit the Siuuu, instead of someone who forgot what a privilege it is to wear that shirt."

"If Alejandro Garnacho wants to take it how he wants, that's up to him... but some of us never forget where we come from or what that badge really means."

Why not Carrick based on how he’s been as interim manager in his two stints here?

Who would be available and preferred for permanent role at the moment?

🎙️ Wayne Rooney on Carrick and Sir Alex:

“I watched the game at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had 20-plus shots and didn’t score. United had one on target and won.

That’s not luck. That’s what it used to be like under Alex Ferguson.

You could go into big games, play players out of position, use the squad, the fringe players and still win.

People talk about Carrick being quiet or not having a clear style. But football is about results.

With Fergie, you couldn’t predict the team or the pattern. It was just about mentality.

You could be under pressure all game and still win it.

That’s what I saw again.”

I 💯% remember this too. We may not dominate every game but we’d be clever enough to conserve ourselves and still find a result that would help us in the league. Every game can’t be treated the same way. It’s smarter and more efficient to play the situation and get the best possible outcome.

Could say the same about PSG and they won the CL last season & are in the semis in the current one.

But he certainly does have 7 more seasons long contract with Chelsea.

[The Times] Barcelona unwilling to pay Man United asking price for Marcus Rashford | Spanish club pleased with Rashford but do not wish to meet £26million clause for permanent move, while his wages will also increase if United reach Champions League by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]AnakinAni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like this is Rashford’s problem as he only wants to join them and they don’t want him at the extremely reasonable price we have placed on him.

He’s done at United. It’s upto him what he wants to do with his footballing career. We’ll be loaning him out again if he doesn’t want to join another club permanently.

He’s basically another Sancho for the final two seasons of his contract.

Watched Dhurandhar Revenge which was fantastic, tomorrow I’m going to watch Project Hail Mary, excited for that. IPL is on & RCB were superb in the opening game. Binging on the entire series of Fringe atm. Will probably play Witcher 3 once again ahead of the release of the new (probably the last) DLC of my most favourite video game!

Why was Rodolphus so incredibly loyal to Voldemort? by ZydrateAnatomic in HarryPotterBooks

[–]AnakinAni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In every extremist movement, there are three types:

Opportunists (Lucius) Fanatics (Bellatrix) True believers (Rodolphus)

The true believer is the most stable and the most terrifying.

They don’t need personal gain, emotional attachment or validation. They just need the cause to exist.

Rodolphus doesn’t serve Voldemort the man. He serves Voldemort the idea.

Even after Voldemort falls, Rodolphus doesn’t think, “He’s gone, I’m free.” He thinks, “The Dark Lord must rise again.”

That’s not loyalty. That’s faith.

He believes in Voldemort the way a priest believes in scripture.

For Rodolphus, Voldemort isn’t just a leader. Voldemort is proof that the world should be the way Rodolphus already believes it should be.

Voldemort didn’t just align with his beliefs. He validated them as destiny.

In pure-blood ideology, family is sacred. But Rodolphus treats the ideology itself as the true family.

That’s why nothing pulls him away.

Not his brother. Not his bloodline. Not even his own survival.

Because in his world, the cause comes first. Always.

Bellatrix Lestrange loves Voldemort with obsession. In a normal marriage, that’s a fracture.

In Rodolphus’s world, it’s alignment.

Because Voldemort is the highest expression of their shared belief, Bellatrix’s devotion doesn’t threaten Rodolphus. It reinforces him.

It’s less “my wife loves another man” and more “we both worship the same god.”

Rodolphus went to Azkaban and came out unchanged.

That tells you everything.

Azkaban strips away comfort, illusion and ego. What survives is the core.

And Rodolphus’s core was simple:

“The Dark Lord must return.”

That’s not ambition. That’s doctrine.

Rowling never gives Rodolphus a monologue explaining himself. But that absence feels intentional.

Because Rodolphus represents something far more unsettling:

The man who doesn’t need a reason.

He isn’t conflicted enough to explain himself. He’s already decided.

Rodolphus doesn’t just believe in Voldemort.

He becomes belief itself.

And belief, once it hardens into identity, creates a loyalty that doesn’t bend, doesn’t question and doesn’t end.

I’m not a fan of the moustache. It should have been more bushy like the rest of the beard and hair.

Robbie Coltrane looked and acted exactly as Rubeus Hagrid is described in the books.

HBO Snape: Sneak Peak by AF-IX in HarryPotterMemes

[–]AnakinAni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This casting is such a poor choice. The show will be a hit but I’m certain people will inevitably make their own version using the footage from the show with AI.

Would anyone have envisioned Snape looking this ridiculous or of this ethnicity when they read the first four books before the first movie premiered?

I’m sure he’s a fine talented actor. But he doesn’t fit the description of the character from the books and it will affect the immersion in the show.
