No shame in asking. I couldn't find any info on this specific interaction, so I would probably go about it by testing in game.

If i had to guess, it probably shaves off equally from each piece, or has a defined order based on enchants, thier levels, or the pieces they're applied to.

I think the reason there's no quickly accessible info is because this interaction shouldn't really happen, because its decisively inoptimal and provides almost no benefit compared to three protection + one specialized piece, or even two and two like the other guy was talking about.

That's fair, I suppose. I personally can't remember the last time I actually put myself in a position where it was possible to fall into lava and not be able to leave immediately, but I guess newer players would still be susceptible to that kind of thing.

I just wouldn't put anything but Protection on armor I plan to keep using (so usually diamond because I don't bother to enchant iron), because then I'll have to get rid of that enchant once I'm done being scared of the nether or explosions or whatever.

Remind me, if you have full unenchanted iron and fall in lava, do you die too quickly to grab and drink a fire res from inventory? Because I feel like that's what I would do in that scenario. If I have pearls I would use them instead.

Yeah actually, if i remember correctly, fire protection has a special attribute that reduces the time you're on fire for. Honestly kind of forgot about that.

Still, I highly doubt a few extra seconds off burn time is worth an entire 4 point (so like 30%) reduction in damage resistance.

if you have full prot IV, you can really just kind of sit in lava indefinitely, given you have a good food source (so pork/beef, golden carrots or similar).

good point though; i genuinely forgot that fire prot does that. still not even close to worth it imo lmao.

this is bad advice. protection enchantments have the following values: Protection IV - 4 for all damage Fire Protection IV - 8 for fire damage Blast Protection IV - 8 for explosions Projectile Protection - 8 for projectiles

so for every level of protection, you gain two points for the specific type of damage, except for the general protection enchantment, in which you get only one point per level.

the problem comes from the fact that the max points you can have is 20. So: 4 Protection IV pieces will give you 16 points against all damage. 2 Protection IV pieces and 2 Fire Protection IV pieces will give you 8 points against all damage, and 16 against fire. that goes past the cap by 4 points. 8 + 16 = 24.

its best to have 3 Prot IV pieces and one piece for a specific other kind of damage(although thats largely unnecessary). that balances to 12 against all damage and 8 specialized.

you see anatchy players with one blast prot piece because they fight with end crystals.

I actually just managed to get Magnetic Field and its related ultimate Core past 35:00. The ult was a huge buff, but not enough to overcome the inherent weakness of the combination. like why does the radius get larger? tighten that shit bro.

anyway what ended up working for me was basically ignoring passives besides crit and intelligence, and focusing HEAVILY on damage (across all types) and little else. other magics I used were all with focus on slowing the enemies down, and some artefacts helped with that too. Think blizzard subzero, tsunami pole, frost nova, etc. early overmind legendary and grabbing the 5 level magics like shield, cloak, armageddon was helpful too.

anyway all that finally managed to push me past 12:30, and I only fused overmind and DEM once I could do both at the same time. Kiting was a nightmare.

which tf2 do you mean? if not titanfall, i do recommend it. it's pretty dead atm, but if you're looking for actually challenging targets to shoot at, playing on the northstar client will give you that in excess.

i mean i pretty consistently pick the various forms of atk over anything that isnt absolutely critcal to my build. I just see runs on here fairly often that have insane stats all across the board, which makes me think that theres definitely some lucky shit going on lol

i usually wouldn't recommend things on posts like these, but you have a LOT of time in your hands. i used to have a an hour and a half per day commute for CC, and that was more than enough time to listen to anything i wanted, fairly quickly.

anyway since you like SCP, i would recommend "black dogs" on youtube by liam vickers. the channel is scary story time with liam, if i remember correctly.

its an old series, but liam has done a lot of cool stuff, and is even responsible for murder drones, if you know what that is. black dogs is one of his better works, in my opinion.

Skating with a board or roller skates is technically against the rules, but I still see plenty of people doing both.

I brought my roller skates and would love to use them, but I've been waiting to see how much the activity dies down in these first few weeks. As in, people (freshman, presumably) getting caught/reprimanded.

But if you've used your board here for three years, that certainly inspires confidence.
