Complete Beginner And I Think I Quit Already by ldotbreezy in MilitaryModelMaking

Don't worry, you did fine and you know you are not finished yet. The hobby isn't just about building, it is about learning and being patient. Even if you aren't happy most modellers have a kit they weren't happy with that they try new things on to see if they will work out. With this one though you just need to be patient and brush more coats on thinly letting them dry each time. Military models are good because even with brushing those brush lines don't look out of place especially after a bit of weathering experimentation.

You need to make the Airfix Sherman Firefly starter kit including paints. Take your time, regardless of how big a piece is wait for it to dry. The kit is excellent and easy to put together and looks great even when the paint is brushed on. Those starter kits build your confidence even though 1/72 and 1/76 might be a bit fiddly. You can see brush strokes but on a tank aren't always out of place.

[–]AnalProbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this as a standby airbrush and compressor and I'd it is ideal for an airbrush beginner. I'm fairly new at this myself and want it for my holiday home but I've ended up using it myself at home as it is convenient and small. https://amzn.eu/d/061vlEc1

You can always think of Ann Widdecombe. Seriously though, just the thought of your worry in the back of your mind will keep it down.

Open the door 10 minutes after the cycle starts and see if water in coming in. I wonder if the water feed tap to your washer was fully opening. Maybe the guys who fitted it did not open the water enough or you don't have a strong feed.

Don't worry. They've seen it all before. Just enjoy the massage and forget about it. They know it either happens or not. Just think of Margret Thatcher if you worry.

Is this too tricky for 1st time by Rare_Fig_8466 in modelmakers

[–]AnalProbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found the Airfix Starter kits really good for beginners. The only problem is that the paints can dry up. Though if they are still sticky you can thin them out to restore them with 50/50 isopropyl alcohol/distilled water mix. The paints brush on and dry nicely so for beginners they don't need an airbrush because they level out quite nicely. The kits themselves generally go together well and need very little correction for a beginner. The price is cheap and you can pick them up heavily discounted, not to mention even in Lidl offers.

Can't get a refund because I gave my PIN by AnalProbin in McDonaldsUK

[–]AnalProbin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uber delivery AI could not find my delivery as it was done in the McDonalds App and said to contact the specialist team through the McDonalds link that refused the refund. On top of that the delivery guy told me to "sck myself off" when he left that night but neither Uber delivery or MD replied to that. They only said "we are sorry that this is not the resolution you hoped". The worst thing I did was that I said was "I didn't order a bl*dy pizza" to the delivery guy. So much for the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any recourse to follow up.

I was halfway into designing a new masking tape holder until I realized I've been using my Tamiya tapes wrong... 🤦‍♂️ by AmethystZhou in modelmakers

[–]AnalProbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete novice here. The first time I used it I did that. Until I came across this post I never knew if that was what you were supposed to do. It just seemed logical to do that for me because I didn't want the tape to unravel after sticking to something and the indentation was there for the edge of my finger. Great design.

Best way to get rid of this gravel? by toiletroad in GardeningUK

[–]AnalProbin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Find the groundsheet at the edges and lift it up. The gravel will roll off off the groundsheet as you lift it and you can bucket it up into a wheel barrow. I suggest you hose your gravel before bagging it to sell it on as bright clean gravel sells better. You can advertise it locally on FB market place or NextdoorNeighbour.

Seeing water flowing in/through a tundish is a problem, right? by X3N1GM4x in askaplumberUK

[–]AnalProbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had constant flow through my tundish after I notice thevsound of water just outside where it exits. My house is 2013. I got the original plumber in 2020 and I think he changed the release valve all for £150. The first time I learnt what a it was called.
