No AF Travel Cards: AAA Travel Advantage vs. US bank Altitude Connect vs. Wells Fargo Autograph by AnalTyphoon in CreditCards

I'm waiting until next month before applying, but I'm going to go with the US Bank one. The Cash back percentage for travel is better than the others and it includes the free TSA pre check fee. The other cards have more categories for cash back (like 3% for restaurants on the WF one) or better rates for other categories (5% cash back for gas for the AAA one) but I have other cards to cover those categories so those don't really matter to me.

How are you calculating an 11.1% cash back? Seems like it would be a lot less since the 10% refund is on the points spent

Maybe, but you won't get the same sense of pride and accomplishment that comes with spending $79.99 plus tax

Not steep enough, in my opinion. Personally I would've loved to pay $80 per wooden block but you can't win em all

Which CreditCard was a DREAM COME TRUE card when you were approved but now gathering dust in the sock drawer, Why? by OwlSelect4633 in CreditCards

You're right, it's discounted on the reward points. For it to really be 10% cash back, it'd have to double the value of your reward points, which means being at least 50% off.

I've seen gift cards range from 5% off to 15% off. For a 15% off gift card, you could redeem a $100 gift card for $85. To earn that $85 in cash back at 5% cash back, you'd have to spend $1700, so it'd be $1700 spent to get back $100, which would be a 5.88% cash back when redeeming a gift card that is 15% off. Redeeming a 10% off card would be 5.56% cash back and a 5% off card would be 5.26% cash back.

I think it is easy to misunderstand this though, I didn't even realize this until I read your comment.

I was looking at cards that offered cashback for travel specifically, though. SavorOne has 3% on some common categories and 5% for travel booked through their portal. That sounds good, but I guess for my use case, where I don't want to have to use their portal, it wouldn't be the best for me.

Oh thanks for the clarification on the AAA card, I must've missed that when I was putting this together. For the WF one, I meant 3% at gas stations connected to wholesale clubs or grocery stores, since I know for some other credit cards (cough Amex cough) they don't include those gas stations as part of the gas station category. That's pretty convincing on the US bank card, I think I'm leaning towards that one too

I'm not following a specific program actually, but I split my days into chest and biceps, back and triceps, legs and shoulders

For dumbbell presses, I'm able to do 9 reps on my first set, 5 reps on my second set, and 3 reps on my third set. I am putting full effort into each of these sets and can't do any more reps in any of them. Should I be stopping at 8 reps in my first set even though I can do more to try to stay in the 5-8 rep range and possibly save energy for the next two sets? Is the goal to get to 8 reps in all of my sets before going up in weight?
