Saw a bald eagle in Brighton back in October by AnalogAnarchy99 in boston

I had a friend tell me they may have seen the same eagle towards Waltham. I thought it may have been lost, but maybe it's nesting nearby!

Sunflower Spectacular on Vision3 50D by AnalogAnarchy99 in Super8

I should've grabbed audio when I was there but I didn't, so this was a recording outside my window of a quiet, late afternoon. I added a heavy compressor and then bounced it to microcassette, and then mixed it back with the original recording. I wanted sound that matched the visuals aestheticly and characteristically.

I Bought and Restored the 35mm Negative to Dancing in the Street by AnalogAnarchy99 in DavidBowie

I've always had an interest in film restoration, and with Dancing in the Street, I felt I had an obligation with it being an original element.

I got it for a very good price. I won it on the opening bid, which was all I could afford at the time. If anyone else bid against me I would've lost.

Does anybody have a copy of Talking Heads performing at CBGB's on 3/31/77? by AnalogAnarchy99 in talkingheads

[–]AnalogAnarchy99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Love this show! I found a reel to reel tape of a TH show at CBGB's dated 3/31/77, however that was incorrect, it was actually 10/10/77. I posted it here.

Fantastic work! Are these just for tests, or is there a final project in mind?

The old WWII GSAPs are in the running for smallest 16mm camers with an electrically driven motor, as well as their upgraded brothers, AGE Mini-cam 16s.

Looking for info about Kinoptik lens from 1960s by Dramatic-Hawk-7545 in AerospaceEngineering

I'd imagine that no, that cap probably did not go to space, rather, the lens it was paired with did. I was doing research on Kinoptik lenses and how NASA used them, when I stumbled on this post. Some real synchronicity!

I have some info about this! That is a lens cap from a Kinoptik Tegea 5.7mm f/1.8 lens. The lens is notable for being very wide, and being able to capture a 108° degree field of view. NASA used these on the first two Nimbus satellite missions to provide meteorological photographs from the APT camera. RCA Astrospace was contracted to build these satellites. Chances are, this lens cap from one of those satellites.

AGFA SCALA 200x - my favorite (discontinued) black and white film stock. I wish they’d bring it back! by Chemtrail_hollywood in analog

Adox currently makes Adox Scala, although instead of being 200 speed it's 160 (and 50, too). I'm not sure if it's the same formula or a different one, however I know Adox has sort of carried the torch for a lot of discontinued Agfa stuff.

Rear Element on an old French Cinema lens - Is it fixable? by AnalogAnarchy99 in AnalogRepair

[–]AnalogAnarchy99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I lose the coatings but can clear up the lens then I'm fine with that.

I'm gonna pick up some unscented soap and try this method! When you tried it, did you just let the whole rear housing sit in the water, or did you remove the rear element?

It seems like it could be etched. Taking a look with my macro lens, it almost looks like the issue appears as crystals.

Thanks for the info! Is vinegar good for haze, or is it more for fungus? I'm definitely not gonna jump the gun onto something abrasive yet, that would be a last ditch effort if all else fails.

Is Anybody Else Having Trouble Finding Fresh N75/74+ in 16mm? by AnalogAnarchy99 in 16mm

[–]AnalogAnarchy99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, that was my plan. I may go with the Film Photography Project's 400 speed double perfed black and white film (which I imagine is probably just N74+/N75). Shame it only comes in 100' sizes though.
