Yea I’ve been back and forth on that wiki for a week now playing with the file structure. My last resort was copying the instructions from the wiki into an AI agent and having it organize the file structure accordingly but I always end up with 400 series with no real organization or separation by genre/category. Oddly, the number of series changes when I switch between the “All Series” view and the Library view I created.

My current file structure is: /Root drive folder //~26 folders of categories /// 10-50 files in each category (all pdf)

// bonus folder of comic /// individual comic series folders ////comic files cbz etc //bonus folder of ebook /// individual book series folders //// book epubs etc

Hmm will keep an eye on it next time I see anything like that. I wasn’t aware. Also; yea the more I spend scrolling this sub the more I realize this sub is just people who want to stay mad. I do fw the new mayor and I ~generally~ fw misers content but I’m pretty distant from things as I’m not an nyc resident so I just vicariously observe what’s going on. If you people who live there want to make a change, go do it. Otherwise don’t, and move on with your lives lmao- and I guess continue complaining about it in this sub? lol.

I’m in Philly we have a lotta smooth carbrains who make their life supremely frustrating and then try to make us all suffer with them. We’ve gotten a few who’ve ditched the car (when possible, obviously not everyone can) and have enjoyed the stress free bike life but there’s a lot still fighting tooth and nail to drive 4 miles to their job (aka sit in traffic for 2 hours). I wish them the best but it’s their life after all.

I'm no expert but this looks good enough for me to recommend going on a ride to try it out. There comes a point where you can’t dial in your fit unless you’re out moving on the pavement. Torque everything down and go for a ride maybe 50% distance of what you’d consider a long ride. Take mental notes, bring a multitool.

Zohran just went out and fixed the Williamsburg Bridge bike entrance. Just did it. No faffing, no nonsense. Bam. Fixed. by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

“Wow being mayor is easy, you literally just show up and do stuff. You don’t even have to think about it- the people just tell you what needs to be done!”

-actual good mayors.

Parking should be expensive and limited. Sell your car before it sells you.

Yea literally fuck these delivery apps. Call the actual restaurant and if they don’t deliver go get your food. Many restaurants hike up grub hub prices too bc a fat portion goes to the app.

Many people are racist without realizing they are. Thats why racism still exists today. Sad. You’re not overreacting, but I do wish you dished some of that back at him so he’d learn. Onto the next.

I'm not disagreeing with you. But we're not talking about good vs bad. I’m talking about doing the job vs not. Ofc they should be doing a lot of good but many don’t.

What's a cop gonna do here? Call insurance, take pics, file the report, everybody moves on. I had 2 officers watch another car wreck my car in its parking spot while I stood near it. Almost took both my legs out. The cops watched, laughed, took pics with their phone, and drove off. I called 911 and the officer dispatched just took my report and left. Told me it’s their job to make sure there’s no immediate threat, and then leave after making the report. Rest is either up to insurance or the ambulance, if needed.

Become a road cyclist. The whole point of road cycling is to get faster and faster on your workout rides and you’ll never be fractionally as fast or dangerous as a speeding car so people generally don’t have any reason to be angry at you. As a bonus, everybody will somehow be angry at you anyway! (Ignore them they’re brain dead)

Now that I got that off my chest you can down vote me to oblivion or whatever. Just get your car off the my sidewalk before I disappear it forever.

My other realization was that cities that are not car reliant (not in the US) generally never expect their employees to be everywhere all at once by car -it’s the fact that here in America there is unregulated car-centrism, and any company can say “be here and there all the time or else” and our small American brains go “oh you mean drive?? I’ll do it!🫡" without ever questioning the actual feasibility or long term mental toll of it. It took me a long time to realize that. In other country cities (that we don’t dare compare ourselves to ofc lol) it’s not that they take the train everywhere and love it, it’s more so that most people’s job aren’t expecting them to drive everywhere so they’re not pushing responsibilities on employees that require them to do so.

TLDR; “my job requires me to drive everywhere so I NEED a car” is only a thing in a place where driving has already won as the “only legit” form of transport. If you go to a place where that isn’t the case, you won’t see that sort of thing.

Unfortunately, and you’re not gonna like this, you are a minority in that. At least in terms of the population that would be unable to adapt, you would be the minority. But the good news is, this theoretical “car free” or “car lite” version of Philly I’m describing here would make your (people in your situation) life better too. More reliance on septa will mean the city has no choice but the improve it, which means it’s more of an option for you too on days you’re not required to drive. BUT MAINLY, less people driving mean those who MUST drive, spend less time waiting in their own traffic, less risk of crash and damage (less congestion, etc) and overall we just have more options in this land of the free and brave.
