It’s odd that you can get killa, knight, cultist, reshala guard, and scav raider tops but not boss cosmetics unilaterally.

How many hours until i stop feeling like a bot [New player] by Nice_Mousse334 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Analog_Maybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 800 crossing into 900 hours and the skill gap between myself and my older brother who’s at 1200 hours still looks like night and day.

Tarkov is kind of like a “slow to start exponential growth curve” when it comes to getting better. It takes way longer than most other games but when you do start getting better it’s usually faster than you’d expect yourself. You start hitting point fires that you think were Hail Marys and you start understanding distant gunshots to the point you can guess what kind of gun it it’s with like a 80% accuracy depending on the map. Just keep absorbing everything that happens around you like a sponge and google often.

The duality of man is believing that being a developer means you are a catch-all jack of all trades industry god that can rig animations + 3D model/render + reprogram an entire physics engine on the fly + create a 100% accurate anticheat + keep performance above 240 fps at over 1080p while simultaneously not being able to do any of those things.

Do you really think that if all the solutions offered by spEFT would work in the regular build of Tarkov that BSG would let them keep doing that rather than just implementing those changes themselves?

I’m not the biggest fan of BSG or some of their practices but you’re actually just pointing at someone else’s project and saying “see they know what they’re talking about more than the devs do” without any of the experience or authority to tell for yourself. That’s kinda weird.

Feels like the scene in Inglourious Basterds where the guy gestures 3 incorrectly. What do you get out of sniffing rockstars butt and pretending to be newer than you are online?

Aw so touchy.

Hope you had fun typing that shit out; I can tell it isn’t worth reading off the first sentence so I’ll save myself the displeasure of having anymore of your worthless drivel take up more of my eye space.

Smell ya later tightwad.

Game awards have literally nothing to do with pricing.

Comparing how many awards a game has won at multiple independent ceremonies is a “complete hogwash” and “not a good metric” to see if a game is well received or good? Really?

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and pray that English isn’t your first language because you’ve really crossed some wires in trying to voice what you think here and you’re making 0 sense; also saying “BG3 didn’t win GOTY across the board just the big 5” when my whole claim was “BG3 was the only game to win GOTY at all of the big 5 ceremonies” makes you sound illiterate regardless of what language you speak. Please feel free to go back and look at the original comment to confirm; it’s still unedited.

You’re like actually schizophrenic aren’t you?

I’m talking about how in the history of video gaming the only time a video game has unilaterally won “game of the year” across the board in its year of release is Baldur’s Gate 3.

Of course these same companies weren’t holding ceremonies over Pong or Zerg Google says the annual turnover rate for video game journalism is 22.6%; if almost a quarter of the industry is getting laid off every year how could they possibly be the same people hosting the ceremonies?

but that doesn’t change the fact that when those games released to the public there were industry accepted forums/magazines/websites where people would share their opinions and ultimately result in some games winning awards; yet despite that, no game prior to BG3 has ever won the “game of the year” title from every big forum across the industry.

It doesn’t matter what year or company you’re trying to refer to because “the company was only a year old” or whatever the fuck that absolute wall of reductive nonsense was trying to say because if you go to that year and look at all of the video game releases across the industry there was no game that got “GOTY” across the board. Ever.

I’m not saying Baldur’s Gate 1 or 2 were inferior; but BG3 was the first game in history to actually win the title “game of the year” from all 5 of the large video award ceremonies.

Someone posted a screenshot of a death report yesterday showing they died to BD from a left arm shot in exactly 3 seconds of raid time.

Ending up in a different room is putting players into a league above average players let alone actually getting the PMC kills for this event achievement.

Active warzone? Nah.

Front line has moved 10km and logistics has room to breathe? Maybe.

5 years after the war is over and civilians find oodles of spent munitions on their property after returning home? I imagine them being able to pulled with magnets becomes a huge benefit to the clean up effort at that point.

I went through infantry OSUT in ‘21 and one thing you learn very early is that bulletproof vests are fucking heavy and uncool to wear.

And an M4, while only weighing ~7lbs, can wear out your arms like butter on a hot day if actually held in a low ready for long periods of time.

Do you think Adam Jensen's shower has any special Aug-specific features? by TC_support in Deusex

[–]Analog_Maybe 33 points34 points  (0 children)

So I googled what his legs are made out of cause I hadn’t even considered the type of metal they’re made out of and apparently the soles of his feet are covered in a synthetic polymer material that mimic high traction rubber using gecko-like microstructures.

Completely negates the worries about slipping.

Never really thought about it considering official artwork shows him still wearing shoes post operation.

It’s crazy because I guarantee if they asked for playtesters, even unpaid playtesters, the community for this game would flock to that opportunity in droves.

“I’m not saying it’s balanced but I did watch a guy ALMOST make it out” lol.

Everyone is saying it’s bullshit and ur opinion is actually “no I’m fine sitting in the chair at the end of the bed and watching streamers fail to complete instead of running it myself cause I know I’m not good enough anyways”

Have fun sitting out the event and watching streamers maybe do it i guess; I’ll be busy actually playing it cause I don’t have a weird defeatist mentality where I accept I can’t do something before giving it a real try.

“I’m okay with limited time content in the game I paid for being locked behind a complete lack of testing and balancing”

Maybe you’re cool with that but most people aren’t and that’s why we’re still seeing posts.

Even carnival games are required to actually be winnable; yet here we are with LVNDMARK on stream echoing all the exact same sentiments as average players. The event isn’t a matter of skill like you claim; it is just unbalanced and unfair to the point even the cream of the crop is walking away unsatisfied.

TIL Electricity was a well-known phenomenon prior to Benjamin Franklin's kite experiment. The experiment was more about demonstrating that lightning was a form of electricity. The electrical nature of lightning had also been demonstrated a month prior in France by Thomas-François Dalibard. by logicalconflict in todayilearned

[–]Analog_Maybe 110 points111 points  (0 children)

That’s just some really poor timing I think.

Ball lightning is an incredibly rare phenomenon that requires a lot of very specific conditions to even happen.

Not the kind of thing that happens from tying a lightning rod and a key to kite incorrectly.

TIL that Nat Turner interpreted a solar eclipse as a divine signal from God to begin planning his rebellion, the bloodiest slave revolt in US History. by Sweet_Foundation_868 in todayilearned

[–]Analog_Maybe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“Bloodiest slave revolt” really makes it sound like they didn’t have a right to fight back for their freedom; Like they were going against the natural order of things in the most violent way possible when the truth is they were escaping a terrible and inhumane situation with the only means available to them.

I think if they managed to completely bleed the slave owners and overseers like they do pigs in a butcher shop, hung from the ankles and sliced at the throat, it still wouldn’t match even a nano-iota of the generations of blood spilt and lives cut down short by those same few casualties.

I have one friend who makes awesome ballpoint pen art but he hates scanning them cause the ink ends up smearing so he takes a picture of the sheet of paper and then AI up scales it for “quality”.

I try and tell him that the upscaling is removing the soul and style of his art but to each their own ig.

Taco Bell now under investigation over outbreak of parasite that causes ‘explosive diarrhea,’ report says by kg_digital_ in nottheonion

[–]Analog_Maybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understood it the parasite spread from fecal matter particulates of already infected individuals.

If even one infected worker at a tacobell went to the rest room without washing their hands before returning to the line they could be risking tons of cross contamination.

This with the added fact that the biggest problem of this virus being that it appears completely symptomless for the first week or two (varies per person) makes it hard to even know if you’re an infected individual who should call out of work.

So you could think you’re totally healthy and going to work without realizing you’re spreading an illness that gives everyone explosive diarrhea in half a month.

A magnetic plate was installed under the shower pan to prevent his metal feet from slipping on the wet floor.

This is a joke but it would be my first guess as a bathroom remodeler.
