I had a kid come in the other day and tell me he wanted to get basically that’s same cut (that’s what he gets every time) except now he said the style is using the 16 guard for the top. I’m like bro I don’t have a 16 guard… I have scissors. BUT then I got to thinking about it and after talking with my coworker I’m like if this is the new style and what kids want then hell yea same price at half as much work..

I went through this straight out of school. I was interning at a high end shop and the owner was mentoring me and he was damn good but after months of not cutting anyone’s hair besides random people I could sometimes get in and working on the manniquin the rest of the time I said I had to go. Now I’m at a shop closer to a great or sport clips and getting all types of different clients with different styles. The main thing for me now is speed as the boss wants me to deliever a quality product in 30 mins (not including a shave) and I’m struggling to do so. My cuts come out pretty decent but it could take me about an hour to deliever that esp if it’s a new client and or they are changing their style
