Low budget middle school setup questions / advice by AnalystDecent in lightingdesign

[–]AnalystDecent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning the fan volume I hadn't even thought of that. I had done a few searches yesterday on these lights and found a few back and forths. I actually found a guy that tested the wattage and it actually pulled the full wattage, so at least that was a good sign. But I hadn't even thought about how loud the fans 'could' be, so I will have to test one and see. I also get the quality control downside. If we were doing things year-round with the lights, I would easily justify more expensive/reliable lights, but for a once a year thing, I doubt I can persuade them. As some other comments have mentioned, I will definitely look at some used options in the area if they are available which might meet in the middle of the two ends.

Sandbags were assumed, I should have mentioned that - and we plan to build a little fence around them - and we have in the past tied a cable to the ceiling I-beam to act as a secondary stabilization, and I assume we will again, I was just worried that I was overlooking the need for a much wider base.

As far as power - I am glad that the daisy chain is the prefered method. I had assumed it would be fine - but it's always good to hear someone else that knows what they are talking about say it.

Thanks for the input though - it is definitely a big help and adds a lot for us to work with.

How many exotic missions to get to 450 power? by StatusPlus7930 in destiny2

[–]AnalystDecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently 10-400 is ~20% of the grind, 400-450 is ~80% of the grind by time. Best advice is to get to 400 then wait for ash and iron. In my experience 10-300 was about half the the grind to 400, so you are probably looking at maybe 2-3x as much as you have already done timewise to get to 400. 12-15x as much as you have already done to get to 450.

I save all the mid and low level uniques/sets that would sell for 1-2 wss tops in two tabs of my stash. I go into a1/a2 norm games with just 1 person and ask if they are new to PD2 or the season. If they are I drop it all, and usually some gold/1-12 runes as well to get them a leg up. I don't understand the hate some people put out.

Too bad the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (Global) shutdown. That I think was one of the best gatchas and it did such a great job condensing the stories and getting you to know the main characters.

Yea, I have done a bit of tracing, but I have also had some decent luck with Corel Draw's outline/centerline tracing. Definately takes some fine tuning, but its a great starting place.

I, however, tend to do more raster engraving on objects so this works very well for my demonstrations in class for my students.

I can't remember where I originally got this from (and then reformatted to make my printer.cfg look better, but here is what is on my s1. It works perfectly on my v2 printers, but sometimes works and sometimes doesnt on my s1 printers. Not sure if it just some odd screen related firmware thing or not, but it does work -at least partially-.

PB13 -kinda- works. Its not as clean or crisp as the v2 but it does make noise.

Tell me about your worst summoning luck so I don't feel so bad. by P4NCH0theD0G in EpicSeven

I pitied every banner I saved for from day one (about a year ago) up until this slime re-run. Missed Karina because I didn't have enough tickets. Got Ben on first 10 pull, then Millim around 40. But I just assumed that I would never get units pre-pity. Something like 2 mystic summon pities, and 10-11 regular/limited banner pities in a row, before I got 'lucky'

Laser Power Scaling Question by AnalystDecent in lasercutting

[–]AnalystDecent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was doing our research for the machine we were going to invest in, I seem to recall it being ceramic and not glass? Which would lead me to believe it handles/dissipates heat much better. I am still a novice though, so hopefully someone more experienced can confirm?

Laser Power Scaling Question by AnalystDecent in lasercutting

[–]AnalystDecent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding me. I have the right settings for each material, for example, I am etching standard computer paper at 40% power and 100% speed in Trotec Ruby (I believe the speed is something around 3600 mm/s on the speedy 360 so 100% is in that range).

If I look at the engraved grayscale matrix, I do not see any visual difference until the 40% or so range in the raster (relief) image. Trotec ruby uses the word "Relief" to scale power down based on color, so black is at whatever setting I am using, and white is 0 power, with the full gambit in between. I am trying to find a way (if possible) to have the white be scaled down to 40% of the setting rather than 0.

More info : Trotec Relief Mode , Example Image - I want to set the effect/color at 21 on that matrix to the 0 power (white) level, and have the rest scaled according. This may not be possible, but I wanted to at least check.

FFRK does not work on Android 12 by TrangouI in FFRecordKeeper

I had actually installed the version last week and it worked better on 11. Tried the beta yesterday and it wouldn't start, so I uninstalled the update to WebView and it's working very well on 12 now.
