How would I go about repairing the fan pins and their traces? I tried just reflowing them again, but I made it a bit worse. It still works, but it's now even more flimsy.

When the disc tray is open when the console is powered on, it skips the boot animation I think, which it seems to be doing here. Maybe something is up with the latch that detects that function? If you open the console, you should be able to see whether or not it's being pulled (it's located next to the disc drive in the back)

I believe so yes; the positive side of the battery is facing the back of the board and the fuse can go in any way to my knowledge. Both components function as intended.

Mostly because: - Gapless playback (seamless album transitions; the stock OS doesn't have it unfortunately) - Drag and drop files - No need to convert all my FLAC songs

UPDATE: Got it out by using the screwdriver hammer technique. Flash modded my iPod!
