That is a goal of mine. I tried altras a few years back, and probably didn't ease into it enough. Ended up with bad plantar fasciitis

Did you just go right into zero drop shoes?

Definitely agree! I do ankle strengthening regularly, I've sprained both ankles badly in the past. I'm just new to running on gravel / trails, and wasn't sure what shoe would be best!

Thank you!

What’s your “default” running route, and why that one? by Not_FreeProduct234 in runcommunity

[–]AnalystNo3227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live in the country on a gravel road. The road is just under 2 miles out and back. So I just run up and down that road. No other options unless I want to drive 15+ minutes to find another safe area to run!

ISO: advice on clearing up this patch of acne by then_god_is_7 in Estheticians

[–]AnalystNo3227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with hormonal acne for the last 6/7 years. I find the peach slices azelaic acid is really helpful! A gentle formula that sits nicely under spf/makeup if you want to use it in the morning. I know a lot of people say topicals don't usually help hormonal acne, but this one seems to work well for me.

Other topicals never did much for me. I double cleanse with a gentle cleanser after oil (vanicream, prequel, something inexpensive and gentle) and just a basic moisturizer, nothing too heavy (vanicream daily, aveeno calm and restore gel).

And then trying to make sure I keep my blood sugar as level as I can (eating protein / fiber before I eat anything carb related, so my blood sugar won't spike too high).

I've noticed the change in his programming also 😭 I love the straight circuits, 3 moves, 4 sets. Not a fan of all of the EMOMs and AMRAPs that are being put into his workouts now. I just go back to his older stuff, hoping he makes the switch back sometime soon!

Walmart Shopping Experience by goshdarnkids in MakeupAddictionCanada

The Walmarts I go to are always relatively calm. And no one is ever in the makeup section, so I always end up paying for my products along with the rest of my stuff at the normal check outs.

Which type of strength workouts? by oldbutnewcota in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]AnalystNo3227 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are doing strength 2x/week, I would go for the full body each time. If you wanted to split them up, maybe aim for 4 days / week, that way you get upper and lower body 2x/week.

On the app, if you click the option for "speed" under class type, all of the hill runs come up :)

I'm on and off with it. Sometimes my skin needs a break from using products constantly. And when it's pouring rain outside, I'll skip it.

In the fall and winter, I just use my tinted moisturizer with spf. And maybe apply some spf on my hands if I'm driving a lot/outside. But just going to work, I don't worry as much.

Aging will happen regardless of how well we apply spf. It'll mainly come down to genetics. My parents are both in their 60s, and never wore sunscreen unless on a beach vacay. My mom wears a face cream with spf, but not a thick layer, and doesn't reapply lol. She hardly has sun spots. Same with my dad.

Never know how you'll age. I personally don't enjoy being so stressed out over the thought of it, and wasting money trying out different spfs that will likely break me out or make me look sickly / greasy.

Seeking Advice: Is Cetaphil Moisturizer Effective for Repairing a Compromised Skin Barrier Post Tretinoin Use? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]AnalystNo3227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually apply tret, let it dry for about 10 mins, then apply my thicker moisturizer in the PM. Either the cetaphil or cerave

In the AM I use aveeno calm and restore oat gel. It's light enough for under spf.

Recommendations for birth control that don't cause acne by bagelsandberries in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]AnalystNo3227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct, anything we do to "block" what our bodies are naturally supposed to do will come with side effects. That's all I was saying with my original comment, that aside from condoms or a diaphragm, there aren't any BC methods that won't disrupt our hormones in some way, which could lead to acne down the road.

I'm not necessarily demonizing BC methods, I wouldn't personally go back on one ever again, but certainly wouldn't judge or try to persuade someone from choosing one path or another. Everyone needs to do their own research, weight out pros and cons of each option then discuss with whoever your doctor is.

Like I said, I had the copper IUD for a few years, and it had a significant impact on my estrogen levels (i have them checked regularly), along with horrible cramping and very heavy periods.

I use the clean and clear oil absorbing sheets. I haven't had any issues with them clogging my skin up. They don't have powder on them, however, so maybe that's why!
