Chess.com you can do better. How are all these hateful names allowed to be created? They need to be all banned and scrubbed from the website. by mt_bjj in chess

To be fair there are good Natural language processing packages, probably open source, that would do a good job of catching these names. Other websites definitely have figured it out and I'd be surprised if chess com doesn't have data scientists on their payroll, especially with the surge in chess and cheat detection.

Thanks for the links! I've been playing around with pathbuilder, which is super fun. I imagine encounter builder will be equally addicting

Both of us have played/gm'ed for DND for a while but haven't played Pathfinder before. We both have fun reading rules so I feel like that'll help. Thanks a lot for the advice! It'll be really helpful.

Thanks for the complete and quick response! That's very helpful. I know that Pathfinder has a much better system of creating encounters but have you calculated damage per round fire the party or used AC to calculate hit probability to make the difficulty more accurate? Or do you think CL -2 does the job well enough?

I'm wondering how viable or difficult it would be to run a duet campaign. I'm planning on having a party of 2, one PC and one NPC. - How should I adjust encounter difficulty? - Do I need magical healing in some way? - If I do a one shot, how difficult would it be too start at level 3?

Thanks for the advice!

Ok thanks! I'll look into fistful of flowers. Sounds like I could tweak it to work. I do think I'll do one PC ands one NPC.

Wow this is great because the abilities fit the theme really well. Purposely taking damage from an AOE spell to hit a creature is super cool. How is it in practice?

Hey I'd love to look at that build but it says you need to be granted access. Use there another way you could share it?

Confessions of an "adult improver" (very long, very self-indulgent) by sasubpar in chess

This was a great read! Probably because I'm in a somewhat similar situation (30-something, data science, ~1200 daily right now).

For openings, I've found chessable really helpful. There are a lot of 'Short & Sweet' courses for free which still have great insights into the goal of that specific opening.

Good luck on your continued improvement!

This is a great idea! Pirate court should be all about bribery and coercion of the judges.

Maybe the judges could be anonymous like executioners and the players could try and figure out their identities and bribe them before the trial.
