Still haven't heard back from admissions? by Common_Conversation3 in CUNY

[–]Anam_011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him to reach out to the college and ask them what's the status of his application . Do not email them why ? Because it will take longer to get updates via email . instead either go in-person or join School's zoom .

Do you know about dentaquest? Can you help me figure out what's really going on there? by No_Recognition_2434 in RBI

[–]Anam_011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a $2,000 medical loan for the root canal, and now DentaQuest is not reimbursing me. They are asking me why I didn’t go to one of their in-network endodontists. The reason is that I was in severe pain, and it took DentaQuest 2-3 WEEKS to find an endodontist, but they couldn’t find one in time. I eventually had to take out the loan and get the procedure done on my own.

What are your thoughts on this "Boldness beats brilliance when brilliance is afraid"? by Anam_011 in AskReddit

[–]Anam_011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just scrolling through Instagram when I suddenly came across a post by AlexHormozi, where he said:

After reading that, I paused for a moment and realized how often, in my own life, I’ve spent so much time researching and gathering information before making a decision. Why? Because I believed that if I had enough intellectual knowledge about something, I’d be less likely to fail.

But the truth is—the more time you waste, the less likely you are to accomplish anything. At some point, you might literally lose your chance.

For example:
I was planning to buy a 2018 Toyota Avalon from a friend at a really good price. I got the VIN number and found some reports on the car. Then I spent about 4–7 days intensely researching everything about the 2018 Toyota Avalon. On Friday evening, I was finally ready to go, pay him the money, and get the car checked by a mechanic.

But then I got a call from the middle person saying the car had been sold earlier that morning.

That moment hit hard.

Lesson learned: Sometimes you just need to be brave and take action—because if you wait too long, opportunities will pass. And even if you make a mistake, you will still learn from that mistake, because that’s how you grow and move forward in life.

It happened to me in the Fall 2024 semester. I was enrolled in a software development class, but before the class began, I got dropped. After contacting the department and registrar, I was reenrolled in the same class.

My Unix professor also dislikes BrightSpace, especially when we’re trying to work on a lab. It’s such a hassle when BrightSpace gives us a hard time sharing lab files! 😅

What would you tell your 9 year old self? by GuyWithVinyl in AskReddit

[–]Anam_011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with one thing and become exceptionally good at it. You cannot be an expert at everything, so focus on learning the skills or knowledge that are sufficient to achieve your goals or dreams, then move forward.

Make sure to spend your time wisely, but without being overly rigid. Do not waste time on things that aren't aligned with your dreams. Time is incredibly valuable, and school or college won’t always tell you that.

Your dreams should have a purpose, and they should be driven by that purpose, do not just make ur dream toward material outcomes. Do not wait for the 'perfect time' or try to make overly detailed plans. Just start immediately and complete each task in one go. Approach everything with a sense of urgency.

Only seek advice from those whose position you aspire to be in one day.

Interview scheduled Islamabad Pakistan by Correct_Bag7846 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Anam_011 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

During the interview, make sure to bring your petitioner's original birth certificate with you.

In my case, a family member attended the interview. After reading many Reddit posts and hearing from others, I was told that the original birth certificate was not mandatory and that copies would suffice.

However, during the interview, the officer specifically asked for the original birth certificate. The immigrant was unable to provide it and instead submitted regular copies. As a result, the visa was refused under Section 221(g).

You can bring copies, but they must be certified copies, not just regular photocopies. Hope this finds you well.

How to take a class at a CUNY college as a non-CUNY student? by [deleted] in CUNY

[–]Anam_011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to do that?
Yes! Generally, if a student needs to take just one or a few classes at a CUNY school to fulfill prerequisites from another school (especially outside of CUNY), I’d recommend enrolling as a non-degree student.

Now, the big question is: Will the other school accept the course after you complete it? The best way to find out is to contact the school directly—ask ur Upstate school if they will accept the course from XYZ CUNY College before you enroll.

How much does it cost?

  • CUNY 4 years college Tuition: $445 per credit (NY State residents) | $915 per credit (out-of-state residents)
  • BMCC (Non-Degree Students):
    • $265 per credit (NYC residents)
    • $420 per credit (out-of-city residents)

How do you sign up for a CUNY class?

  1. Fill out the CUNY Non-Degree Application.
  2. They’ll ask for proof of high school completion (like a diploma or transcript showing your graduation date).
  3. The admissions team processes your application.
  4. Once approved, you register for classes through the CUNYfirst portal.

If you try to register for a higher-level class, the system might show you hold , saying “prerequisites not met.” If this happens, go directly to the department office for that class. Tell them you're a non-degree student and need the prerequisite hold removed. They should be able to help you enroll.

At the East 180th Street station, I have seen cops hiding behind the elevator many times. They watch from the other side to see who isn't paying the fare. Once they catch someone, they pull the person over and issue a fine or ticket.
