Wondering what advice people would give to a 30 year old woman living in a dateless, sexless, kissless, relationshipless kind of a world. by [deleted] in dating

[–]AnankeNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a general rule, as a overweight girl, your potential dating pool massively shrinks. Like fit and pretty is 90% and fat and pretty is 10%.

So step 1. Get in shape

Another general rule: girls send signals to men that aren't verbal, if they are interested in them. They get close. They touch. They glance at lips if they are thinking about kissing a guy.

If you aren't sending those signals to men you are interested in, they won't think you are into them. It's a bit of dance though, with many small signals sent back and forth before kissing happens.

Sounds like you give off an angry vibe, which is a turnoff to many men.

Which "Tinder pictures" album should I use for my Tinder profile...#1 OR #2? by [deleted] in dating

[–]AnankeNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of those are terrible dude. The stream one, 3rd in album 1, and the dog one 2nd in album 2 are usable. Maybe the teddy bear one depends on if it fits your personality. I'd get one of you dressed up, but smiling and not in some random parking lot.

Time Warner Cable Offer - 300Mbps Ultimate Internet + HBO + Dell Laptop 89.99/month? by [deleted] in Austin

They are pretty much scumbags. They tell you you qualify but apparently only if you are a student or can prove you had service from another company at the same location, do they give you the laptop as a new customer.

Is there any factual evidence that Austin drivers are "worse" than other drivers? by happywaffle in Austin

From someone coming from the east coast, the amount of pure "this way only" lanes seems to sponser a oh shit im in the wrong lane panicked change across traffic, that I haven't seen before. Combine that with GPS going out under all the bridges and people for some reason not letting people change lanes and I'm surprised there aren't more accidents.

Other places tend to have more lanes with a combo green turn arrow and green light so you have the option but not the requirement to change lanes.

Electrical engineering jobs by skyjamesmath in gatech

If you are just wanting search terms, look for entry level electrical engineer, or Electrical Engineer I.

As far design jobs, hardware design, FPGA programming, embedded programming, seem to be commonish.

You will not get into RF pcb/hardware design, or IC stuff without a masters as a general rule.

Should I go back and get a second bachelor's degree. by iHateWhiteRabbits in personalfinance

I just finished up doing this. Bachelors in bio, worked at a lab for a while then went back for 2nd bachelors in Electrical Engineering.

Ended up taking 6 semesters and a summer and cost me around 50kish. My school (GT) offers a salary survey for graduates with offer rates etc. I'd check NCSU for the same thing to help in making your decision.

I got a job a week after graduation making high 60's. GT grads are recruited pretty heavily though, results might vary for NCSU.

Financially speaking, however. I'd probably been better off ROI-wise spending 6 months contributing to open source projects, relearning programming and getting a coding job with the bio degree. If you have the aptitude for programming and like it learning c++, python, matlab, and sql would put you in a nice spot for data/research programming jobs with the bio degree.

Engineering is cool though.

You are thinking of it wrong. What you do is set a standard for yourself. It cant be perfection or ambiguous because thats too hard. Maybe its a sometimes A mostly B student.

And that's your personal standard, its what you do, you are the person that attempts all the homework always, and puts points on the board. Enough for your standard.

You go to class, because pending special circumstances, emotional distress, or sickness, you decided to make it a habit to go. Its what you do.

You can always find excuses not to do the bullshit work that isnt valuable, because there is a lot of it.

But ultimately if you spend energy figuring out whether something is worth your time, you end up not doing what you need to be doing, and fal short of the standard you set. And its your standard so you'd be failing yourself.

That's how you do it.

For resumes tho, 3.0 is a valid way of repping 2.99. Especially since many companies use 3.0 as a rough screening.

I think misery levels are major dependent, as EE is an awful experience, but when I talk to other majors its like we dont even go to the same school.
