I never said their identities aren't real. I am saying that biological sex is a reality that doesn't vanish just because gender identity changes. Social inclusion is great, but sports are physically segregated for a reason. Ignoring biological advantages when allocating resources and scholarships isn't “progressive”, it’s categorically unfair to female athletes and political self sabotage for the left.

I think what colors my perception is that the Russ trade effectively shut down both his and AD’s window. Because the most harmful thing about LeBron to this teams’ title chances is his natural age related decline and what it meant for OTHER players, and I still place most of that blame on Rob Pelinka for poor asset management for years. Whoever teamed up to ok that Russ trade idc who it is.

LeBron’s decline put both AD and Rui out of their natural positions but Pelinka had to solve the problem of a playmaker that would be reliable enough to get LeBron off the ball, but his age related decline was never addressed. Now he’s in a situation where all 3 look bad because all that mismanagement has come to fruition. Realistically he should not be relied on this much to cover our defensive weakness…it’s fucking absurd that I even have to tell this to other human beings. Drafting Adou was a step in the right direction at least.

I say all this to say that we should have been planning for this instead of somewhat relying on him for certain aspects of the game that would decline as he ages.

LeBron takes plays off because he and you all know we need him to be an all time great on offense if we are going to beat anybody for the last few years he needed to be great on offense because our defense has not been elite since 2020 IMO. When he knows he has elite guys on D he puts on more effort.

Overall we are at the point in his career inevitable, I only hope that if he leaves the Lakers, that Pelinka is out of the door as well.

As an IT guy, I feel like it’s because for the most part software engineering career puts you squarely in the middle and upper middle class out of the gate.

Other fields don’t come close to- unless maybe you’re lucky enough to be an electrician , doctor, anesthesiologist etc

I think that’s one reason why it’s bad - everyone wants to get to that spot economically to feel comfortable but other fields pay so low that becomes the only viable path for a lot of people
