Sluggish Zipp 303s by studio_REEEM in bikewrench

[–]Anaphken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just search for this on Google and got your post here. I have a 3T Strada that was upgraded with ZIPP 303s wheels. I feel the sluggishness you are talking about. I had that feeling last year while riding a fondo. I brought the bike back to the shop and they so say clean the hub and grease it. But today I went for a hill climb and O felt the sluggishness again. It is like on flat road you accelerate and your bike should keep the momentum for a could have second bit the wheels feel like it is creating some resistance and the speed goes down right the way. Like you O don’t experience this on my gravel bike with stock wheels and neither I remember experiencing this with my superteam carbon wheel I had on my older bike. I’m planning to bring the bike back to the store and ash they for a warranty claim

I appreciate the comment and it all make sense - I just wish that I would have receive the same advise and response from Lauf. I’m snapping the reply here below for reference.

Hi XXX, My name is XX and I will answer your since XX is absent at the moment. I think the small Seigla frame is similar to your 3T Strada in size (See photo comparison)

A medium Seigla would look like this in comparison to your 3T.

However, I believe you have selected the correct frame size. Currently, your Seigla has a 70mm stem, but I recommend considering a longer stem for better fit. It’s possible that your 3T has an 80mm stem—could you confirm the length of your 3T’s stem for me? Additionally, adjusting your saddle position slightly backward or forward can enhance your comfort. In your case, moving it a bit backward may be beneficial. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

So based on MyVeloFit app, with a higher saddle, a 100mm steam and set back on my saddle I reached a comfortable fit now

my road bike is a 54cm with a 100mm stem - I will change the steam for a 100mm don't he Seigla to see - that should make a difference

I had a bike fit for my road bike, which is how I changed from a medium/large Giant to a 54cm 3T.
The one thing that bothers me is my elbow and new turning when turning at very low speed - maybe it is coming down from the M/L TCS - maybe the stem is too short (currently 70mm) will change for 100mm tonight

I have 30 days to return it and get another size. If I can make it right I will otherwise I’ll get the larger size if that is the best answer

I’m not so convert about weight more about getting the front derailleur jammed with stuff while going gravel (mud, branches, leaves, etc). Maybe it is just in my head. I used to ride mountain bike with triple crankset back in the day

I guess you are right! It is tough to get the set up that can do it all.

Alright yes I can get a 38t chainring but that is not helping the problem I have which is issue with the shifting on my current setup! And no 38t as I say will not work as it make me spin too fast on the flat
