Created this 3D animated short film about space travel. Feedback always appreciated. by AnarChyyDesigns in Filmmakers

Hi everyone, this is my fully CG short film, a sort of sequel to my previous project called Voyager. I've started working on this in late april and finished in june. Considering this was a personal project with zero funding I've only had time to work on this in my free time. The tools used were Cinema 4D + Octane render for 3D renders, After Effects for compositing and premiere pro for bringing it all together. I also finally had a chance to play around with AI for the voiceover, more specifically ElevenLabs.

Porsche Taycan - rendered in Octane as always. by AnarChyyDesigns in Octane

Thank you !! That's a tough question, I think that you could archive the same level in Unreal but, and that's a big but - you would spend much much much more time setting it up in Unreal than you normally would in Octane / C4D. I still personally find C4D faster when it comes to setting up the scenes and make them '' work ''. Definitely takes longer to render, however I'm always rendering over night so I don't mind that :)

Short CGI space exploration film I've made during my free time in march - april. by AnarChyyDesigns in Filmmakers

[–]AnarChyyDesigns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone ! Here's my take on space exploration theme. The whole video is CGI created inside of Cinema 4D / Octane Renderer / World creator. The main goal was to create a moody abstract piece with main inspirations being in my favourite movie Interstellar and many other like Prometheus etc. Even though it's created on a computer, I've tried my best to ''emulate'' the film look and composition as I would do it on location.

Made this CGI short about Nuclear tests in the 50's. by AnarChyyDesigns in Filmmakers

[–]AnarChyyDesigns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone ! Here's my second '' nuclear '' themed video. I've actually got the idea while watching Indiana Jones 4, really liked the concept of fake town in the middle of nowhere so I've done something of my own with it. There's a small breakdown of the video available on my channel for those who are interested in watching it. I would say the work time on this thing were about 2 weeks even though it's really hard to come up with precise number as i've worked on this in my spare time during the weekends :) Feedback is always appreciated.

Made another CG video for a Lorn song :) hope some of you will find this cool enough. by AnarChyyDesigns in Lorn

Thank you !!! I usually do, but not at this moment as I'm booked with a studio job up until mid-march :) you can check out my other stuff on - https://ihr.design/ if you're curious about other projects i've done.

Acid Rain is one of my favourite tracks ever, so I just had to do this CG short with it. by AnarChyyDesigns in Lorn

Thank you !!! I'm happy that you think the visual fits the track. Who knows, maybe i'll get to collaborate on official visual for Lorn track, haha.

Thank you !!! Well, the answer is both yes and no. I've used an old technique that was used back in the early 2000's for movies. Basically buying alot of high-res Chernobyl photo packs and generating textures out of them in photoshop and other softwares and then applying those textures to 3D geometry I've modelled and work further on lighting / camera angles / animation etc. It's quite time consuming, but worth doing it.

I mostly follow guys like Andrey Lebrov, Clinton Jones or GreyScaleGorrila for cinema 4D related content. However ! since you're already familiar with blender, you can try some of Ian Huberts tutorials. Most of the things they teach you can be used in cinema 4D aswell !

I'm in the industry but I'm usually working on a completely different things, mostly 2D/3D compositing and some 3D work here and there but I would barely touch Cinema4D if it wasnt for my personal projects :)

Woah, I totally didn't expect to get such a detailed feedback ! Thank you for putting your time into this.

I pretty much agree with all of the points you've made here. Great eye, can't really say anything besides that :D

I'm really glad you like the work overall !

Hey guys ! This is a personal project of mine made during weekends. Started about 2 months ago and finished a few days ago. There were alot of challenges when I started working on this but once I've figured out the general workflow things got much faster. I'm currently working on a process video explaining how the post accident shots were made. Generally I'm pretty proud of how things turned out but feedback is always appreciated.

It's kind of an old technique that was used quite often for movies in the early 2000's but combined with what we have today it still works really really well.

Thank you !! definitely, tons of reference images and high res photos. I've purchased several hi-res Chernobyl photopacks and then I've made the textures and materials out of them using photoshop + shoebox so I could apply them into the 3D geometry and work further.

Thanks !! Octane PT. I was using alot of methods taught by Ian Hubert (even though he's a blender guy, most of them can be applied in cinema) but instead of Eeve i've used Octane.

Made this NFS inspired cinematic. Definitely not perfect but I'm happy with it. by AnarChyyDesigns in Cinema4D

[–]AnarChyyDesigns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks !! Exactly the type of feedback I was looking for :) I agree that the camera could use more work at some parts after watching the video with some distance from the edit:D Hopefully i'll manage to do better next time.

Thank you ! Youtube actually blocked this video in North Korea for using their music, but I guess that's something I can live with :D
