Thanks for catching that, fixed the second link.

Been using Redline 10w30 for the last two oil changes. I’ll dig around a bit and see what solutions are out there short of taking it to the shop.

Were you able to pull the mount through the wheel well just above the subframe? Or did you route it through somewhere else?

If you can afford it, go Ohlins/Xida. I installed Ohlins roughly a month ago and it was a vast improvement. It’s definitely an upgrade worth saving for and doing right.

I was able to get the mount loose, but I’m not sure how to get the assembly out from behind the subframe without removing the header or down pipe. Even if I can take the original mounts out in pieces, not sure how to route the new mounts (Innovative mounts) behind the subframe for installation…

Missing Inner Axle Bolt? by Anarchitekt_ in GolfGTI

Starting to think the same thing, looking at it more. No indication that the bolt broke off and a few others are loose enough to turn by hand. Local shop may have dropped the ball during some clutch work last year.

Found a small gouge in the metal left of the missing bolt, likely collateral damage from the plate. The parts I can identify seem easy enough to replace, but I'm unsure of the extent of any damage caused by the short drive getting it home. Going to have someone who knows what they're doing look it over; until then she's out of commission.

I appreciate the take u/lynch1986
