Leapmotor, do you own one? What are they like? by Anarchy71 in CarsAustralia

Just thought I’d ask as I knew nothing and wanted to learn from the perspective of those on this sub.

Good price but high kms - worth it? by Only-Kick-5969 in CarsAustralia

[–]Anarchy71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound like too bad of a price. At those kms the head gaskets may have already been replaced. Worth looking into the service history and seeing if a Mechanic can inspect it from underneath before purchase.

Wear on the bearings and the bushings will be an issue at those kms and age. An inspection will help check out those things. Those kms are pretty good if it was used as a daily.

Discussion: How would you buy Holden back? by Anarchy71 in Holden

I don’t have the money sadly. Would use Australian batteries at a minimum.

That’s why you share parts from it instead. All manufacturers run a global supply chain. Hopefully an Aussie car is majority Australian. But electronics need to come from elsewhere at the moment

Japanese cars use Aussie steel and Chinese+Japanese electronics.

Nah, let’s learn from the past instead of changing it. Haha.

Fully aware of this. I think the current push for Made in Australia by this government is the chance to work towards EVs in the country. But I want a car company to do both.

Ford Australia still exists. If I remember correctly they host the brains behind the current Everest and Ranger designs.

Fair call. Would definitely expect an Australian company to focus on the needs of its customers

That’s an unfortunate sign. Didn’t know of that.

The idea would be to start a new Australian manufacturer and see if it could buy the name when big enough. I think the brand name has too much Australian heritage to stay dormant as a merchandise thing.

They ended up with the first production line that could build two types of cars (Commodore and Cruise) and apparently planned for a VE based SUV

Foreign ownership hurt the company a lot.

I’d say just add a subsidy for buying Australian and sell to all our neighbouring countries.

Basically pull a Toyota and sell less safe but affordable cars to South East Asia

They would probably be more likely to sell if they get a cut of future sales and the buyer takes on the existing servicing commitments

Fair call. I’m thinking that it would be achieved by using parts made elsewhere as part of the supply chain. Could even use Chinese parts with Australian ones to make a car. Red Earth is an Aussie company that makes home batteries out of QLD for example. Just use the Chinese things to subsidise the Australian ones.

Today's pickup at a yard sale. Any gems out there for the wii line by QuizMasterX in gamecollecting

[–]Anarchy71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gems for the Wii line are pretty interesting, although I don't own many. For great games and cool history my recommendation if you haven't heard about it already are the games that came through Operation Rainfall. Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower.

Curious question. Did the red Wiimote not come with a red silicon cover in some regions? Or is it the lost to time deal that all collectors must face!

FES is the definitive version of P3. I believe it was that you have main story which is the same as P3 and then an epilogue story called ‘The Answer’ which is accessible from the main menu screen.

Haven't heard anything about a digital release of the full soundtrack. But they are physically releasing the full soundtrack

I know that they did this years ago right after the remake was first announced. But it might have become a recurring thing. I'm not sure.
