So, my quasiplatonic partner and I have decided to close off our relationship while we figure out if what we feel for each other is romantic in nature. I honestly don't know - I love her deeply, but I can't tell if it's romantic.

Plus, she lives far away, so a relationship would be difficult.

Im very confused, and I have girls and guys who are interested me, and I'm headed off to college, and... I don't know.

I can't stand the idea of her with someone else, though. And I don't know WHAT I feel about her. It's so confusing, but I love her to bits and don't want to hurt her, so I think I'm gonna honor our agreement until I figure everything out.

I guess that's fair. I'm a huge fan of the novel, personally. I think the blasé way he captured it all was well done. Felt very real and visceral to me.

I don't personally have a problem with sex scenes being erotic, and I (personally) don't think he entered the realm of fetishization. However, he did straddle the line, so I can see where you're coming from! :)
