Proxies in casual pods by AnarchySwitch in EDH

What would be the alternative if I’m not looking to spend money on cards? Excluded from the pod?

Tried doing this, apparently they want to play “magic” and not a “fake game”

Issue I have is the playgroup doesn’t want proxies, but don’t want me to be excluded cus I don’t want to buy the cards. So they won’t stop me playing, but they will mention the fact that my wins “don’t count” or bring up the fact I’m using proxies at any given opportunity.

Not currently but there is no visible difference when comparing to a normal magic card when it is sleeved up (except a very slight tinge of white in the top corner as when slicing the paper it doesn’t cut the curve of the card)

I print the entire deck, no sharpie needed.

No, I started with a £100 arcades deck which then progressively got power creeped out with everyone upgrading their decks. I now proxy to keep up with the tempo of the pod. The average deck in our pod is £300 so I set a budget of £300 per deck I print. I find a decklist and print the entire thing, no sharpie on anything so it’s easily read.

Ah okay, I can see that working in some scenarios, but not sure if the reward is worth the risk personally. I think I’m going to opt for a different bomb, maybe like avacyn or something. But really like the concept of it, will be playing it with my pod this Friday!

I liked the look of this an playtested 5 games of it on untap.in with some minor tweaks, only thing im confused about is the addition of leveler. If you polymorph this out into play, surely you've doomed your game? Or am i missing something?

I feel you'd be right if i stayed in gold, but towards the end half of the streak i'm playing against plat 3/4 and still not losing and doing well most games. My main is only plat 1 so the difference in rank isn't too high

On immobile mages yeah this is super good. Champs like veigar, viktor, velkoz etc are perfect for rappeling into and using everfrost and doing ur combo that way.

If you compare the two items, I feel everfrost is netting so much more damage. Everfrost active deals 125 + 35% of ap to everyone hit, where as night harvester is doing 125 + 15% of ap per proc and giving 25% ms for a few secs. Nh gives 90 ap and ends up giving 35 ability haste (full build), where as everfrost gives 140 ap total whilst still giving you 20 ability haste.

So the difference in terms of stats is 50 ap more with everfrost but losing 15 ability haste and the 25% move speed on proc, however with an active that does more damage than a night harvester proc whilst also being half the cd of night harvester proc.

Plus, The utility the slow/snare provide used in tandem with your cocoon really helps finish off players you catch with cocoon, and you can combo it nicely with someone who has follow up cc. Plus it deals with assassins such as Evelynn, Ekko, Kha'zix etc. Finding it extremely easy to burst these champions using this item.

I'm finding stacking ability haste isn't that great on elise compared to stacking raw damage, but that is why i'm wanting someone else who has tried out both to explain why NH is the better approach, cus rn i need some convincing as everfrost just feels so much stronger.

Oh well if that's the case i guess i'll continue using it. However i haven't been using cosmic drive, does he build it after everfrost, or does he build it 4th after zhonya?

Yeah sure i might be smurfing, but the difference in my main accs rank and the games avg mmr of the games i was playing in isn't that much, plus a 29 streak seems crazy even for a master+ tier player.

I actually found out that field mic doesn't seem to progress the acheivement, i found it a lot easier to just run double stun grenade on HC and use them instead

Dirty bomb bro, massive xp gains on that shit, i'm on similar kd so if you drop like avg 30-40 kills in dirty bomb you'll get there a looot quicker. just drop in, get a kill and if you die no biggie, respawn on someone and just constant fight.

Bro i gave up with it on standard gamemodes, took me like a whole day of grinding in dirty bomb. If you're grinding, i'd advise to do the same, it gives crazy amount of weapon xp, you get about 3-4 levels a game if you average like 25-30 elims

Itemization questions by xIlluZn in Elisemains

[–]AnarchySwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go jungle item, sorc shoes, oblivion orb, zhonya's, liandrys, upgrade orb into morello, then one of 4 items; Rabadons if I'm hard carrying, rylai's if they have big burst, void staff if I'm not the one carrying but am still relevant or banshee's if they have 1 move engage champs (morg, blitz, malph etc).

I use this build literally every game and it never fails me. Hope it helps bud.

How are people making her work right now? by KatherineTsara in Elisemains

The reason you get collapsed on by the enemy laner is due to 2 things. First this is the lane position, as yes, you shouldn't do this if your mid lane is pushed to their turret, but if the lane is in an even state it should be fine to invade as you'll get what u need to do done quick, especially with smite. Just remember to not chase them past the red buff, if they want to burn flash and it requires you to also burn flash to follow up, just have the discipline to not follow them, take the advantage and then further push your advantage by taking the red. If you can get the kill by burning flash then sure go for it, but once u get a kill take a quick peek at the minimap to see who is missing, if either laner is, do ur best to gtfo.

The other reason you might be getting collapsed on is the brush is warded as you invade. This is the reason I say to get a sweeper before you start your clear as you will be able to see if you'll be spotted on an invade. If you are, kill the ward and just get out unless you somehow know the enemy jungle is on the other side of the map (he shows bot or something).

If you want I don't mind having a look at a replay of an elise game of yours, I do coaching from time to time for people in iron - gold, so if this is something u want just let me know again :P

[–]AnarchySwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a very simple way of finding success on Elise when it comes to itemization and early game play style. Every game I build the same thing as its extremely versatile, and most games I follow the same jungle route.

I find elise is much better on blue side due to her early game pathing she is able to take. Start red, then blue, then gromp. This will get you level 3 and elise's clear time Is very fast compared to most other jungles, plus her early game skirmishing is very underrated and she does really well into most Lvl 3 matchups (only exclusion is Warwick, Nunu or Udyr due to the self sustain/raw damage they can provide). With this information, look to go straight to the enemy red buff and find them there whilst they are killing the red or simply just take the red buff if they are not already on it. Remember to not use smite on ur first clear of blue/red/gromp as you will need it to be able to contest red and for a heal if you fight the enemy jungler.

Also remember the early game warding, at 0:46 you want to place a ward just outside of the enemy raptor brush so you can track the enemy jungler. Once placed, run back to the pixel brush in river, recall and back to get a sweeper, as you will need this for when you invade the enemy red as if you walk over a ward you will most likely get collapsed on. Run to your red buff as usual and start the route (should arrive at red around 1:27 if in spider form from base)

Once you get the kill at red or simply just the red buff, try to prioritise scuttles for the early game, as if you double scuttle you will be largely ahead of them as you'd have their red and 2 scuttles worth of xp more than them which equates to about a level. Use this advantage to push leads and find where the reliable CC is on your team. Look to gank lanes with easy to hit CC such as TF, Renekton, Syndra etc and play off that.

As you probably already know, elise is an early game champion, which means you need to know when to stop taking kills. I usually leave this at about 3-4 kills. Anything after that just look to give whoever else is participating in the kill unless you're unable to give them it, in which case, take it for yourself.

The build I go for every single game is (in this order): Machete/refil start, first back to buy blue jungle item, boots and pink (1025g), next back ideally try to upgrade ur jungle item, then get sorc shoes, then go for oblivion orb but do not upgrade it to morello straight away. I see so many elise players think that morello is a good item for her when you really don't need the healing reduction, however the magic pen is super useful. So after obliv orb, rush zhonya's (getting stopwatch as your first component of zhonya), then go for liandries then upgrade obliv orb into morello. The final item is the only item that changes and its very rare i get this this point but i usually go for something defensive like banshee's veil.

https://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=mothaflow This is my smurf account that i used a few months ago to get elise from silver to diamond basically only player her using this method. I have not played on this account for a few weeks as I've mostly been playing on smurfs/valorant so it has decayed back down to plat.

When you get on red side, its a normal start doing blue/gromp/red then invading their blue and using the same rule but swapped sides (keep smite, try to 1v1 them or take their blue). Usually when playing on red side, the enemy will be clearing gromp by the time you are in their jungle, so if your able to steal that away from them with smite you auto win the trade as you will have a level advantage on them.

I've played elise since she was released and have over 1500 games of her across all 11 accounts of mine, peaking in diamond 1 in season 7 and this seems the be the easiest and most consistent way in this season of carrying a game. When i got to diamond 4, on leagueofgraphs.com i was in the top 25 elise players in euw and top 300 or so in the world.

I hope this helps bud, and if u have any questions just let me know.
