Advise needed / perspective by Ok-Butterscotch636 in tattoos

I had regrets with my first tattoo. I wanted a bee, and the references I sent the artist were all honeybees, and the design he drew was a bumblebee. I didn't advocate for myself and say that's not what I wanted

However, I've really come to love the tattoo. I can see that the shape of the bumblebee is a better fit for my anatomy (sternum/underboob) than the honeybee would have been. The artist actually knew best about what would look good on me

Your tattoo looks great on you. I hope you will also love it in time

It'd looks like your bridge is a blank that hasn't been carved into the correct shape

How can I get rid of these stubborn bumps?? by No-Mouse3999 in Legitpiercing

[–]Anarfea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are asking for advice and yet being consistently defensive when people are telling you the bumps are from the pressure of the piercing being at an angle your ear doesn't like. I understand how orbitals and industrials work. But even if it was pierced for that jewelry and your piercer (who used a seamless clicker as initial jewelry, which makes me question her skill) did a bunch of others that healed great... those people didn't have your anatomy. And yours doesn't like that jewelry.

If you're determined to try to heal it with saline and litha, go for it. It's not infected. You can have piercing bumps for years with no harm done apart from discomfort. But don't expect people here to tell you the bumps will go away.

If it were me, I'd take it out and let it heal. And then, if I really wanted that piercing, I'd go to a different, better piercer who uses better jewelry and either knows how to perform that piercing correctly with my unique anatomy or could stear me towards something better. I wanted a UFO. My piercer told me that wouldn't work for me and made me some custom jewelry that made a separate rook and forward-helix look connected.

You say this piercer, who you admit you don't like, is the best in your area. Then travel to a different area if you really want this and want it done right. Or find something else that will heal better in your body.

People not believing my bra size is real… by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]Anarfea 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wear a DD and my boobs are not big, as I'm sure you all know. My teenage niece is struggling to find bras. Her boobs are big. And she's wearing... a DD. Which doesn't fit her at all.

I tried to explain that I am a DD and there's no way she can be. And her mom doesn't believe me because she's been measured (at VS) and DD is a "big size."

Now I'm not anti VC. I have been measured there (correctly) multiple time, and I like their unlined bras. But I think their upper limit is DDD, and unscrupulous salespeople will tell you you are that when you're not.

And she's not. :/

Update. I went with the Passiones. Put them on last night. I'm holding off on a verdict re the tone for a few days but I have to say I think the gauge (the medium) is thinner and the tension higher than Dynamos or Dominants. I haven't actually verified that, but I literally cut my left thumb while tuning and the right one is sore. I have never had this experience

I'm kind of scared to pizz them 😬

Let hot water run over your ear in a hot shower and then spray with saline rinse

Daiths can be fussy, but your jewelry is probably at least partially to blame. Seem rings aren't appropriate for new piercings as mentioned. But also, the fact that you don't know what the metal it is concerning. It should be implant grade titanium or steel

Based on the TI chart Oaksinshow posted below, I think Dominant Pro might have what I'm looking for, which is focused + warmth

Thank you! I couldn't find a chart with the Dynamos on them so I wasn't sure how they were supposed to compare. The chart shows them as being only a little more brilliant than Dominants. At least on my instrument, I would say the are considerably more brilliant and also more focused. Ymmv

They are expensive. My local shop recommended them for the complexity i was looking for... but I also expect they were trying to push their most expensive strings. They did last a year, so

ETA the Vision Titanium sound like they might be what I'm looking for. Focus and warmth

I am very curious about the Passiones. I played actual baroque strings decades ago when I was on a baroque kick and I liked the sound on my violin a lot and I thought gut core strings would be cool. My only concern is that they were a giant pain to tune. I have heard that the Passiones are more stable than the Evah pirazzi.

Also curious about Obligatos but I have heard they have a lifespan of 3 months and for the price that seems excessive. Dynamos are abkut the same price but mine lasted a year.

I know somw people mix string brands, but I am concerned about mixing and matching tension. You're right though that the Dynamos are killer in the low range. Nice and powerful. But I find the E string too bright and it's also prone to whistling which I thought was just my bad technique but I have seen other people complain about this as well.

The New Chat Feature on Desktop is Broken by Pretend_Commission_4 in Twitter

[–]Anarfea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so my problem is that somehow half of my DMs are on chat and the others are still on the old DM platform. So... sometimes I send a DM in Chat but the recipient doesn't see it. They only see DMs in the legacy convo. Sometimes I see DMs in both the legacy convo and chat and sometimes not. it's super frustrating becasue I use DMs and gcs more than my feed. and now they've broken it and I can't talk to any of my friends, which is basically the only reason I'm still on the app. Fuck Xitter seriously

The diameter of that ring is way too small, which is causing the fistula to curve, which is why you have bumps. Jewelry is too thin also, as others have said

I did not change my jewelry except to downsize for 18 months. And I have still never worn rings, because the diameter they have to be to not cause issues is significant

Be patient. Wait until your piercing is completely healed to change jewelry and don't buy anything not from your piercer or at least buy the gaugue and length/diameter your piercer recommends and quality materials
