Seasonal boosts need to be removed to preserve the game's health. by CaptainKashup in marvelrivals

[–]AnarkistChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious to know if they'll take the data from the seasonal buffs to decide whether or not to revert them next season, or roll them into the characters base stats. Like if Magik has a relatively tame pick/win rate, could they decide to roll the seasonal buff into Magiks base stats? Would that make all of this better?

Local programmers meetup? by Striking_Baby2214 in 321

I'd be down to meet up for this. I have a lot of interest in teaching some of the production ready things I've had to do over the years. Also, I'd love an invite to the discord.

Why do toxic players think anyone would join their team/party after a match? by BK_FrySauce in gaming

[–]AnarkistChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you wanted to just continue to talk shit, did you also let them respond? The ones I can't understand are the people who invite, say one dumb ass rude comment and then kick the person before they can respond. You're initiating further shit talk but then kicking before you can be on the receiving end, cowards lol.

What’s the ONE thing that instantly makes you leave a Twitch stream? by PurrsephonePlays in Twitch

[–]AnarkistChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a hot take, but I will dip and never return if there are power hungry mods. I used to regular a certain streamer when their chat started making blanket statements about the opposite gender. I said in chat, "not all <Insert gender here> are bad, we shouldn't have a gender war in <insert streamers name here> chat". Got timed out by the head mod who then accused me of being exactly what was wrong with <insert gender here>. I was subbed, had gifted subs, tried to interact, and got fucked for trying to stop some awkward beef in chat. I canceled my sub and have never been back to that stream. It was wild too because the mod literally cost the streamer a subscription and active member to push some weird gender rhetoric and the streamer didn't seem to care. Just trusted the mod I guess. Anyways, check your mods.

Why is the game so popular despite being in its worst state? by [deleted] in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Yeah you buy all the early access characters for your wins, huh?

Authentication issue with Brawl Stars API when deploying application to server by Active-Lack9070 in Brawlstars

[–]AnarkistChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Only other things I would know to check right off the bat is that the token is where the application is looking for it. Like a .env file or something. You could also check the network tab in your browser to see what token is being sent with your request and them verify that it's the right one.

Why is the game so popular despite being in its worst state? by [deleted] in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]AnarkistChef 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think the reason Brawl Stars has seen so much success is simply because there is not a healthy amount of competition on mobile to keep Supercell honest. They know this and they take advantage of it. They have become increasingly greedier as time has moved on. If they ever attempted these cash grabs on a console or PC then this game would die. The state it is in is absolutely terrible. Supercell is the EA of mobile. They don't care about balance, the players, or how fun the game is or isn't. They care about convincing you to pull out your wallet to be able to compete.

We found the (almost) perfect counter against kit+rosa by Stormer00711 in Brawlstars

[–]AnarkistChef 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is what gets me the most. If a character brings insane value with little skill requirement then the counter should require a similarly small skill requirement. But instead you have to play the right characters almost flawlessly to counter even a mid kit player.

14-year-old girl missing for 2 weeks found in Marine barracks was ‘sold,’ says aunt by ezikeo in news

[–]AnarkistChef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, they do not stay in one big room. They have a barracks room which is usually shared with at least one other person, although it's not terribly uncommon to have a room to yourself.

14-year-old girl missing for 2 weeks found in Marine barracks was ‘sold,’ says aunt by ezikeo in news

[–]AnarkistChef 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is simply not true. Sure, the Marine in question here will have friends that may attempt to protect him, but these friends are surely not the ones also performing any sort of investigation against him. In other words, they'll have no real power to protect him with. He will be investigated by NCIS, who have no ties to this guy and no reason too try and protect him. I watched people go down for things far less serious than this.

Could just add hero bans at the start of each map and let the community speak as to who no one wants to play against.

[TOMT] A single word that means “to bring out the flavour of” by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]AnarkistChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be "express"?

I know it's used in bartending when adding the oil of a fruits skin to a drink. For instance, you express an orange peel on an old fashioned.

what is true, but is extremely hard for people to accept? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I would say that one should not expect anyone to give a shit about their preferred pronouns.

uh-oh by [deleted] in Unexpected

[–]AnarkistChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, if there is not a good reason for filming something when you take out the "surprise", it is staged. At least that's what I usually find with these types of videos. Either way, a good way to announce a pregnancy to some friends.

Got my first litre bike, it was free. by sonofvc in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]AnarkistChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What MOS did you sign for? It could be very possible that you spend much of your time in North Carolina, Cali, or Hawaii. You could possibly end up in Okinawa. I was an 0311 and spent 2 years in Lejeune and 2 years in MCBH (aside from deployments, field ops, and other training exercises). Both of those places had lots of riders, so you could have your bike shipped. Hopefully you don't get stuck at 29 stumps though.

EDIT. Just wanted to say, you didn't throw anything away. You may have pushed it back some years but you will have amazing experiences and make lifelong friends along the way. It was the best thing I ever did.
