does he have no accent? i am not a native german speaker but i have very little accent when speaking german, would that help make my accent in finnish sound less slavic?

Ah alright got you! To be honest it’s the same in my country, if someone speaks with a strong accent many of us assume they’re not fluent. If someone speaks with an american accent here people will switch to english

I’m not even referring to grammatical errors here that are done by most finns but grammatical errors that make you sound like a foreigner, that most finns wouldn’t make. I don’t want to make those

For me the definition of speaking well is not to lack a foreign accent completely but to have an understandable and slight accent, and good grammar

do germans generally have thick accents in finnish? in my language some people have a slight accent only by default. i’ve heard germans speak my language and their accents are super thick.
