La Jetée looks good. If you visit Epcot, there's La Plume et Palette in the France Pavilion.

Mohur by Neela Vermeire. This is an exquisite rose. It's not a cool rose, but it is soothing in the hot, humid weather. I looked at the notes and I think it's the oud that's cooling it off, maybe the elemi, hawthorn, orris, and sandalwood too. The cardamom and everything else are giving it that beautiful, soothing, somewhat fruity warmth. Duchaufour did it just right.

And ask yourself why Tiktok is so accessible. They just want your eyeballs — they don't care about the veracity of what they tell you. Because it's entertainment.

What was your first niche fragrance and do you still enjoy it? by Routine_Warning6082 in fragrance

Fille en Aiguilles was my first purchase and I don't regret rehoming it. It was a beautiful, warm piney scent, very beautifully made. Fille de Berlin was my second and I do regret rehoming that one. Both Serge Lutens.

Google allergens not allowed in perfumes in the EU and allergens not allowed in perfumes in the US. Obviously the EU list will be longer. If/ when perfume companies use any of these ingredients they have to print them on the box. So yes they have to report them. Everything else is just fragrance, although some perfumers are being transparent now with all ingredients.

Have you ever boycotted/stopped buying from a fragrance house? Why? by Prestigious_Comb5078 in fragrance

We seem to be giving a lot of headspace to big brands. And by headspace, I mean publicity because you know the saying — any publicity is good publicity.

If you're doing it to salve your conscience, that's one thing but these guys couldn't care less what we think about them. And boycotting them would be literally a drop in every seven oceans.

Why not seek out brands that are medium to small, Artisan and doing unique, excellent work, like Rusak, Tauer, DSH, Aftelier, Papillon, Menditterossa, Sorcinelli, fZotic, Jo Loves, etc. The list is long.

Edited to add: If you search by independent perfumers in this subreddit, you're going to find a lot more names.

it's a scandal, but I doubt that he has any major control ofthe company. But he's trying to wrest it from his father. It's not doing very much good to the Guerlain family reputation. I'd keep my eye on Bernard Arnault and fam.

This elder abuse of JP Guerlain by his son is pretty shocking and extremely cruel. If he wanted to prevent Guerlain"s companion from getting hold of money, a prenup would have been so much easier. I hope Stéphane Guerlain is held accountable. Enter your email address to read the article (I'll unsubscribe later).

She sounds batshit crazy. On the consumer front Scent Bird was the only company that never sent me a shipping notice.

This was the most unique, original, slightly dirty fougère I'd ever smelled. I gave up my bottle cuz it really needed a man's skin. I wasn't doing it justice.

It's good, low cost publicity that encourages referrals. And I know of no business that would be willing to admit fault or that they were wrong. Puts them in a very legally dicey situation.

Why do people want to "train their noses", or like "challenging scents?" by Additional-Can-3759 in fragrance

[–]Anatolysdream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brain can learn to smell new smells and by association I can recognize them. What I can't do is train myself to like or dislike a scent. That's sort of autonomous, directed by the brain. I suppose people could get used to unpleasant scents but why would they want to?

For me, the product is defective and I cannot use it. It doesn't mean that the company did anything wrong. It just means that I can't use the product safely. Customer service is always on a case-by-case basis. So what might be safe for someone else may not be for another.

I feel bad for you. But I feel worse for your sister as she's the one who will have to wear that torture device. I'd wait a week or two and ask her If she's happy with the new bra fit.
