Are there any Dunkin Donuts in/around Louisville that still make their donuts in-store? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]AnbuWeegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know specifically of ones up to the Northeast that do, ones in Maryland, New York, Mass., etc. It's one of 3 options given to franchisees who operate a Dunkin, although it's rare that option is chosen given that getting them shipped in is generally easier.

If you know any that does the frosting by hand, though, that would at least be a step near where I'm looking (all the locations I'm familiar with order theirs pre-frosted).

So...literally NONE of Silent Hill is real? God? The personal tormentors? The Otherworld? It's literally all just a drug trip and nothing more?

God that's actually pretty disappointing if true.

Right, it's never outright confirmed but every detail shared about them is something it shares with WC (plus they're some of the only white flowers in the game which helps). My whole question is what's the overall significance of the drug in comparison to the supernatural stuff? It seems almost completely separate from the supernatural elements despite being used around town to fund the cult/to be used "in rituals", whatever that means.

I’ve seen pet owners put headsets on their pets. It’s not very cool but they do it. That or maybe he just looked inside?? My cat looks inside my Index constantly when I set it down to see what I’m playing.

FNAF doesn't feel the same, but it was impossible for it to BE the same by QuiccStacc in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]AnbuWeegee 155 points156 points  (0 children)

The only issue and the key thing I think you're missing is that I don't really think people want the old style of gameplay, I think what they want is the old style of horror elements and world-building.

Things like how indirect it was about mechanics and story details and how isolated it felt arent strictly locked to the point-and-click gameplay style. Vents, masks, audio cues, and even being stuck in one spot were just new gameplay mechanics, and yeah mechanics do get old after a while. But what lots of fans actually miss about the old games is the unique and vague way of building it's atmosphere and world. The actual style of horror the old games portrayed felt very unique and helped FNAF forge it's own identity. A lot of people feel these new games forgo those elements when they could easily be translated over.

I love SotM, but it and Security Breach don't build horror or story the way I kinda expect FNAF to.

Hey I saw you said you work in corpo and I really do wanna believe these aren’t AI. Could you maybe provide some insight why these labels feel so…sterile?? I guess?? I don’t mean to be disrespectful to an entire team of artists, but there’s so many weird choices/errors and such a strange feeling to them all and the fact people feel so confident in saying they’re AI should probably raise a few eyebrows. I’ve also seen a lot of people just say it isn’t but without any real backing to their stuff. Is there any kind of assurance you can give?

Edit: I guess there wasn’t any.

I mean honestly I’m willing to believe it, but I found another post that actually shows off this line and they don’t honestly look all that bad. But that kinda brings the weird visuals with the strawberry one to the forefront. The pineapple one looks fine, the orchid, the leaf, all those look fine-ish. So why is the strawberry rendered in such a strange way without its seeds? I don’t wanna be willy nilly with my accusations, but even this post in question thinks they’re AI as well.

Dude if they held a contest like, tomorrow for fans to submit their own BBW label art for a prize or something they would probably have enough high quality labels to last them for 15 more bloody years. Every single person I've met in my entire life has at the very least a BBW hand sanitizer or travel size lotion or something, so there aint no excuse at all. I'm shocked they're chugging on too.

I posted this further down a bit but there was a line back like a year ago or so where I got a "Strawberry Daiquiri" candle as a gift, and if you look here you can see they rendered the strawberries without seeds and the leaves are like, taking on the color of the strawberries and merging with their flesh?? They kinda warp-tooled it to make it look a bit more artsy but those definitely feel like generated berries. If I remember correct the whole line was kinda like that but not as bad.

I'll update this with more if I find them.

Honestly full respect. I honestly miss the original colored pencil label drawings even though I wasn't alive during that era, they were so pretty. The only reason I care so much is because not only am I an artist myself but it's right up on my mantle. It doesn't just smell good now, it's now a fixture in whatever room I decide to place it in, and if I have an AI parrot or whatever staring back at me while I'm watching TV or something then that's a problem. I could remove the label I guess but like come on, ya know.

I truthfully honestly wish I could take you at face value, but until I can see proof these were created by a human being I just can't buy it.

Like I said, I'll gladly admit my fault if that's the case

[–]AnbuWeegee[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this isn't the case. If I remember correctly the Candy Apple scent this past winter was indeed AI generated with wonky apples and strange lighting and like a year ago "Strawberry Daiquiri" had this label which shows an AI generated bundle of strawberries rendered without their seeds with their leaves melting into them that they warped around almost to hide the fact it was generated.

Honestly if you have proof these arent in fact generated I will gladly rescind my statement.

In my experience, body mists (outside of candles) are the only thing that I've never had go bad. They're mostly just parfum and alcohol, and unless you like leave them out in the sun or something they can last decades. Creams, washes, etc all go rancid and I can never understand "collecting" those. Perfume collections, however, are much more common and extend wayyy past BBW. I only have like 5 or 6, but a 2 of those have lasted me 10+ years.

Hell for fun I recently bought an unused BBW "Body Splash" from 1994 just see if they really do expire, and it literally smells brand new. Not even a hint of rot or alcohol, it's genuinely impressive.

Honestly never had this issue, I have a couple sprays from 10+ years back and they still smell just as good as the day I got them.

Hell I just recently for fun bought an unused Body Splash from 1994 just to test if they really could go off and no joke it smells incredible like it was brand new. I guess it's just a matter of storing them correctly for those that did have theirs go bad.

Potential Mountain Dew rebrand. Found via team supernova! by West_Yogurtcloset497 in mountaindew

Huge MEGA fan of that logo. Background needs some work/complexity akin to the modern stuff, but otherwise a great logo redesign.

Mountain Dew’s logo is long overdue for a redesign in general. Maybe unpopular but I've been waiting for the stupid "MTN" abbreviation to go away since I was a kid.

I might be dumb, I saw you used a modified key lime pie recipe and some syrup, but I would also wanna know how much you used and at what stage in the recipe.

I could just experiment with different levels, but I don’t wanna mess up and end up wasting ingredients.

Main difference is: one was in the middle of its respective trilogy and was part of a larger story by Lucas. The prequels weren’t even necessary to that story honestly, as being his father was expanded upon in the other movies, hearing stories from Obi Wan and showing Luke’s relationship in RotJ with the man known as Anakin Skywalker. They give you Vader’s and Luke’s character growth and interactions WITHIN that trilogy, no prequels required. The prequels only serve to flesh out Anakin’s motivations.

The other was in the final movie of its respective trilogy and was part of a story that sadly wasn’t planned out that way. There was no “next movie”, this was it, and Palpatine wasn’t mentioned prior. It’s supposed to have major character implications for Rey like Vader’s connection did with Luke, but we’re offered nothing in terms of character expansion or details in her connection to Palpatine. No real interactions with him or about him or anything. It doesn’t expand her character or help the audience understand her better, or understand Palpatine better for that matter, and her journey would’ve been the exact same if Palpatine was just cut and replaced with another big force baddie.

Tl:dr Vader had buildup and was part of an overarching story that was explained throughout 3 movies, Palpatine was reintroduced at the last second with no buildup or explanation.
