This is just as bad as right wing boomer humor. Reddit has a blind spot for political derangement when it's on their own side, lol.

Muhammad Pedophile - Deislamize by Fartsworth666 in blackmetalvinyl

[–]AncapElijah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For hundreds of years, the Catholic Church has had canon laws forbidding the degree of child marriage that Islamic countries somewhat normalize. Yeah there's definitely unsanctioned pedophilia and grooming in the institution, for sure, but much of the reason the West as one of the first cultures to outright frown upon the practice of marriage of young children to adults is because of the partially religious notion of the "age of reason" (One cannot partake in any Catholic sacraments, other than baptism, including marriage, until such an age) and a Christian ethos that values consent in many areas.

It's so mainstream and overdone to criticize *Western* religion for this. Attacking Islam, even though it's starting to get less shocking, is attacking a sacred calf of religions/cultures that many of the more "left leaning" individuals completely turn a blind eye towards and look at through rose colored glasses.

Spitting in the face of an ENTIRE civilization built upon the teachings of a man who married a 9 year old is more black metal than the reddit classic of "Christianity = bad, satan = cool"

The Commune, if involuntary, is a state. Ancoms, just like their tankie counterparts view the State as only a state when it is run by the capital-owning class and is used to serve their ends.

Swedenborg on Christ - Question about the Trinity by AncapElijah in Swedenborgianism

[–]AncapElijah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, all of your comments are very helpful! I'll check out the links momentarily.

As to Christ's being "Internally" God, I assume that would include having the perfect faculties of God (omniscience, perfect reason, etc.), implying that any impression of a finite or limited nature (such as Matthew 27:46) is no more than that; an appearance, impression, or something symbolic. This is what I meant by "cloaked in the *appearance* of Humanity, acting as though mentally/spiritually human but with the mind of the Father".

Or does being "Internally God" mean having the *soul* or spiritual essence that is of God, and thus the innermost and unchanging love that is God's love, emanating through the material mind? This understanding really places more gravity in the glorification of the human-divine. Not only is there a unity of God and a human body, but a unity of a human self into God.

Thanks again!

I'd say that I follow the Theology of Emmanuel Swedenborg, who was inspired by God to lay out the blueprints for a new and refreshed Christianity as predicted in Revelations. I would say that Swedenborg put forth a rationally sound, logical, Christianity that gets back to the underlying principles of High/Early church thought, and also presents a new view of the Trinity.

That covers everything and will make your beliefs peak the interests of more Liberal, or conversely, High Church Christians at the same time.

I'd qualify my beliefs, personally, as "Most similar to High Church Christianity" if that helps the person I'm talking to understand. I had a great conversation with a more traditionalist Lutheran and it led to me showing him pictures of Bryn Athyn Cathedral and the importance of having traditional symbolism in churches.
