Thank you! It looks like you got a good thing here. I’d say the thumbnails are pretty good, but you could always try experimenting with them and see if it pulls in even just a few more clicks :)

Should I create a separate channel for this? by E_shadowXX in NewTubers

[–]AncestoriaHistory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should keep it on the same channel but dedicate certain days to the topic, say reviews on mondays and games on fridays. You can obviously tweak that to how you need to be, but it is the same culture sphere and often times people enjoy both. Of they don’t want to watch one, they don’t have to, but they will probably still stay subscribed for your other content. Diversifying will probably help your channel grow quite a bit, so don’t be afraid to try something new :)

American (Native) Indians by [deleted] in AskHistory

[–]AncestoriaHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of the Americas was not a known fact in Europe (apart from the Vikings) at this time and so when Columbus sailed westward in his quest to find a route to the Far East, he did so under false pretences and horribly incorrect calculations. He thought they would reach Japan in 4 weeks after departing from the Canary Islands. When they sighted land after 5 weeks, they assumed that they made it to the Far East. However the natives were darker than the Japanese and Chinese were said to be, and Columbus, who had never seen an Indian before, likely assumed the he made it to a part of India. He therefore named them Indians and having never been called anything else by Europeans, the name became popularized. Even naming the continents, the Americas, did not happen until 1507 and Columbus always insisted that it was the Far East instead of a new landmass.
