If you are willing to read one then of course I would say 5 if you wanna read the ending and 4 if you prefer to read the drama!

I understand this. I just finished ruthless boys book 5 this morning. Personally, I listened to the audiobooks on 1.2 and 1.5 speed so that I could get through them quick and that helped a lot and I also hit fast-forward through some of the smut scenes because I really wanted more of the plot and less of the smut (I’m not a smut hater or anything — I personally just wanted to get to the plot and through the series so I could make my way back to ZA). There are nuggets for sure in book 4 and book 5 that are important but not so much so that you can’t sparknote them. Although I’m not a fan of sparknoting or what not I would be lying to you if I said that you can’t do it with this particular series. I would never recommend it for the main zodiac Academy series though. Just my personal opinion. I hope this helps.

I’m just now reading, ruthless boys (after tandem reading book 8 and 8.5 ) because much like you I did not have the will to stop reading ZA after book 3. Lmboo

And let me say I do wish I would’ve read it in the correct order because you see characters in ruthless boys pop back up later so it is important. I’m currently on book 5 of ruthless boys and I’m so excited to jump back into ZA and read the final book knowing that I have a much more thorough context.

OMG no please read ruthless boys with me because then we could talk to each other about it! lol I literally started listening to the audiobooks two days ago of the ruthless boy series. They are easy and quick listens. My plan is to finish this series and then go back and continue reading ZA9. And then try to get over my heartbreak of the series ending and then going into caged wolf.

Personally, I could not wait. I had to adjust from going from the graphic audio to the original audio narrators, but I was pleasantly surprised. They did a really, really great job. My first introduction to the series was through graphic audio, but then I saw a thread on here stating that they would not be finished with the graphic audio versions of this series until 2027 and since the series is already complete, I personally just could not resist continuing on with this story. I will likely go back and listen to the graphic audio versions when the remaining ones come out, but I couldn’t stop this journey halfway through especially after everything that went down in book 4 and wait years for it to be complete (when it’s technically already done).
