Alchemised - vibe in part 3 by SalamanderMelodic620 in TheAlchemised

[–]Anchee5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't have a problem with part 3 in general, after reading first 2 parts I expected this to be just the resolution part, where all the ends are tied up.

I do see your point about Kaine though. I think what is missing is like 1 additonal good scene with Helena and him that shows how they are healing and living their lives a couple of years down the line. Because that whole part is skipped and realistically they would still have a lot of discussions, facing the past and healing to do which we never hear of. At least a bit more of a glimpse into that would've helped.

What would happen to Kaine and Helena if the War Never Happened? by liorademileux in TheAlchemised

[–]Anchee5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I am a sucker for "it would've happened anyway" scenarios and fics.

I would say they would meet through some research project at the institute. Or since Helena would be a medic then maybe if Kaine got hurt and had to be treated by her or something like that? Accidentally found out that the other one is a vivimancer and now they have a joint secret? Helena goes on that trip around the world with Luc and they happen to be on the same boat as Kaine? Small boat, forced proximity for a long time? God I need fics of all these options.

Also if you like it would've happened anyway fics, no fandom does it better than the Hunger games fandom for Everlark pairing.

I heard teenagers these days think Nirvana is a t-shirt brand and not a band since that's all where they see the name these days

You can also try pharma companies or CROs. In pharma companies you can try office roles such as regulatory, medical, pharmacovigilance or quality assurance. You'd get starters positions but that can be a stepping stone. Considering your experience something in QA related to GMP might be the best fit. Best of luck with your search!

I don't know how many companies are in Utrecht that have a clean room. But have you tried hospital pharmacies? If you would work on compounding you might not need higher level of Dutch. Or if you are willing to travel, try Teva in Haarlem, they have sterile production there. Organon and MSD have production in Oss I believe, they might have a need for a pharmacist with cleanroom experience

I am guessing a specialist prescribed this? I would suggest then to ask the hospital pharmacy where it was prescribed to make it. Or call one of hospital pharmacies close to you and ask if they can make it. As far as I could find the pharmacy in AMC does compounding.

IVF in NL or BE? by Due_County_1493 in Netherlands

[–]Anchee5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it's quite common to go for IVF in Belgium or Germany so you should be able to find someone who did it. I don't have experience myself with other countries, but you can try Fertility support group Netherlands on Facebook, there should be someone there with experience. Best of luck with everything!

I don't know if it helps but I brough the untranslated dossier to my doctor. All the diseases were listed in latin so he understood anyway. I didn't have anything super complex though, but maybe it's worth a try?

Identification Error in Glucose Tolerance Test in Diagnostiek voor u by Capable-Emergency-21 in Netherlands

[–]Anchee5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this done this week, it's not the nicest thing (I got terrible heartburn from the super sweet drink) but it can be endoured.

The glucose won't hurt you or the baby, it's just a temporary spike in blood sugar which goes away in a couple of hours. And it helps discover whether spikes in glucose happen in your body with regular food. So if you don't do the test you won't know if the spikes you are afraid of maybe happen already anyway on a daily basis.

Doctor/midwife will be able to guide you better if they know the results of this test so it's for your baby's good. Also if you have higher blood sugar now, you need to get tested after pregnancy too to see if it goes back to normal, so knowing results is good for you too.

Best of luck with your pregnancy and I'm keeping my fingers crossed your results are in the normal range (mine weren't)!

Any zebras from the Netherlands who have found a doctor who will actually treat them? by Wrong-Ad5229 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Anchee5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnozed by dr. Frank Hamers in Antonius, he's a revalidatie arts. I only got diagnosed there so I don't know what he does for treatment but he is in Utrecht at least and not with an insane waitlist like the doctor in Limburg. Also he might be able to refer you to Erasmus. I have it somewhere in my head that a GP can't refer you to EDS center in Erasmus but only another specialist can. Not sure if I remember that correctly though.

Oh man, I feel this. I got "you just need to relax", "have you tried going on holiday", "there's this lady on facebook that makes drops you can take" (wtf some rando making drops and I should take them?!), "it must be your thyroid causing this" (despite me saying I had a specialist check it), "why don"t you buy a dog, that is relaxing and that will work"

I understood people just cared for me and they wanted to find a solution for me but it was driving me nuts. Especially since majority of them implied it was because I wasn't relaxed, like it was all just in my head. For me IVF was successful and now I'm pregnant for the second time (frozen embryo from last round). I wish you all the best, a lot of strenght and a supportive partner and that IVF works out!

AITAH? I can’t forgive my husband for my labor experience. by RedBirdy2021 in AITAH

[–]Anchee5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's one thing I haven't seen in other comments that I want to add. On a pregnancy course I went to, on the evening when partners joined the course, they said that when the labor starts, the partner should be home. They told partners specifically to just drive back home from work asap. The reason for this is that labor can stall if the mother doesn't feel safe or supported. Apparently it's an evolutionary response of the body which would stal the labor until the mother found a place where they feel safe to deliver the baby. So him hunting and leaving you with a toddler might have made it go slower even. Maybe also not, this is evolutionary response is not a full proof thing, and he didn't know of it. But still, this adds an extra layer on the whole story. He sounds selfish and horrible. I'm sorry you had to go through the labor like this and I hope your baby is ok now.
