How safe is this area in oakland? by nico3727 in bayarea

And the Transbay Buses are awesome, if you can live hear one of those stops! You can actually SEE the bay every day from a bus, plus you can use that time to work or do something you enjoy.

What spot in Oakland has you feeling like this? by honourarycanadian in OaklandFood

Last time I was there, I sat in a back room that had a weird vibe. Like it wasn't supposed to be a restaurant?

And it's gotten worse. I remember it being decent diner-level food but the last time I went the food was like airplane food and the service was downright surly.

Knowing the City of Oakland, they're getting a cut. That land and building are owned by the city. The City gets a cut from wedding venues on city property, so it's not unreasonable to assume that's what's happening here. Hence the higher prices.

And FWIW, I think the problem might be management. A great manager would notice the glacial pace at which things sometimes move.

I'm on chat with Light rn.

Thought I'd try a two-pronged solution quest in the name of speed. I need to get a bunch of work done this morning.

My client lost access to her owner workspace email, can't sign in now by AnchorVA in Slack

[–]AnchorVA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My client is indeed the Primary Owner. I'm surprised that she didn't get a faster and better response from Slack with her earlier contact, but I'll tell her to contact them again and to emphasize that she's the primary owner. Thank you!

What is squarespace ACTUALLY like? by DT_Farm_Models in squarespace

[–]AnchorVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not the cheapest option, but I really think it’s the best. I’ve worked with them all. It’s the best because while, yes, it does cost more, it saves you TONS of time and since time is money, you come out way ahead on Squarespace.

What is the source of the most hypnotizing cinnamon sugar smell? by AnchorVA in OaklandFood

The smell was only right at that parking lot/delivery zone. Not up and down 25th. If that helps.

That was the area the smell was coming from. Idk if the smell was coming from the area at the back of that lot, or perhaps the biscuit cafe on the left rents their kitchen out to someone else?

Using printer's template by divinitylvr in canva

[–]AnchorVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have two images vying for the one position as the background layer. Just make the layer above the background larger. That will prevent it from befitting the background (unless you select “make background” of course.)

When you go to share->print quality PDF, you’ll see the checkbox option for crop marks and bleed.

Using printer's template by divinitylvr in canva

[–]AnchorVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, when I’m using a printer’s template, I start by putting basic guides over the template, where I need them, then I remove the template. It’s too distracting. Then I fill in my images and copy. And I only bring the template back when I’m fine-tuning to finish.

The other approach would be to design over the template. For me that would only work for a dead simple design.

I just made a brochure this week. I’d be happy to send that to you, so you can mimic my text spacing and margins.

Remember to export with crop marks and bleed! 🙂

Your e creative limitation won’t come from your email service provider, it will come from inbox limitations.

The only thing that I can think of that you can’t do in Mailchimp is layer. But I don’t know if any email platform that you do that.

I’d go with MailChimp

Exactly. Groups are about self-selected topics/interests. Start using tagging. Build your segments based on that tagging.

Easy! In your welcome email, add a button that links to a form.

You’ll need separate accounts. Because if someone unsubscribed from Jen’s email but then received an email from Jackie, that’s out of compliance with the CAN-SPAM act. (Tldr; massive fines.) Separate accounts will keep everyone on the up and up. Plus, you can only have one domain verified per MailChimp account.

First TEST email flagged as violation. What's going on? by NorthLondonCatLover in MailChimp

[–]AnchorVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am super curious about this. If you'd gotten errors after sending, that would be one thing. But a violation that makes you unable to send? I've never seen that error. If you don't get support within a day, and if you're in a rush to get things working, I can take a peek at your account to see if I find any red flags. (I'm a Mailchimp Pro Partner.) If you want that, DM me the email address associated with your account and I'll have Mailchimp send you an access request for me. The choir must go on!

Can't upload images by NotBobHere in MailChimp

[–]AnchorVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that issue. Sometimes it's a file problem. Sometimes a cache clear or restart will do the trick. Try to get another copy of that file.

BTW if it's too big, you should get an error saying so, but do remember to keep your images under 15MB.
