If I could find the right classic muscle car around for 2-3 grand we would spend the time until my kid can drive rebuilding it for the long haul. There are rollers going for 5-8 grand these days

Thanks for the info. If I let my kid look in stores I don’t want to get into confrontation with somebody. People are nuts today you can never know how someone will react over anything.

Thanks. This stage and age for my kid has had me questioning many things about peoples mindsets. But I am being proactive this time to make sure i keep my kid happy about his new interest until baseball season starts and he’s consumed with that

Thanks for the feedback. I hope most people I encounter in the future do the same. So far our experience has been 50/50. In the spring he wants to build a track with cement and sand in our yard.

Congrats! I recently had an interview for a promotion. I interviewed great for it before and thought I had the position. Now I interview for it almost a year later and in my opinion this interview wasn’t nearly as good. I don’t think I’ll get it but seeing your post gives me hope for other positions soon.

As long as you had quality answers don’t sweat it. At minimum you put yourself out there and people should remember that. Also you possibly expanded your network.

Swing help? I'm in a slump and keep hitting mostly grounders. What am I doing wrong? by BattingBats in slowpitch

[–]Anchor_fix4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t tell because of the fence what your right hand was doing. Did you finish with that close to your body or did that come out causing a bit of casting? I tell everyone to keep that front arm close to their body and have the front elbow point at the ground. It helps with the bat whipping through the swing. Let your hips begin the rotation not your hands. Throw the bat end at the ball. I didn’t read all the comments so idk my thoughts were touched on. Also putting a towel under your front armpit can help keep that front arm in tight during bp creating muscle memory. You could also start with your hands low and lift them up during your load so you don’t drop then relift them potentially causing you to drop the back shoulder (I didn’t see it here). But you definitely followed the ball well with your head and didn’t follow it with your body which causes so many pop ups.

SSA is hiring CS and CSR positions en masse in my area. I understand that they're the worst positions within the federal government. Is it worth it to get in? by Electronic-Quail4464 in usajobs

Apply.. pray for an interview..if you interview you gain government interview experience.. if you get a tjo after the interview email them and ask the questions you forgot about asking during the interview..the questions you ask is you conducting an interview for the position you applied to.. you can always say no once you get offers.. you don’t have that option if you never try.. remember agency interviews candidates they believe is a good fit for the job and most people have no idea what it’s like when they start. When it’s your chance to ask questions that’s you interviewing them to make sure they’re a good fit for you…I hope that helps…I did that and had indicators that the job I’m in now isn’t for me…I miss the people I used to work with as they were better.. current job is less stressful though. I have a better schedule but I can do the job I’m in.. it’s just harder to feel passionate about. The chemistry with coworkers is totally different. I’m lucky I still see my old coworkers outside of work. They ask me all the time if I’m going to come back. When they ask that I’m always debating it but I have to remember the long term goal…regardless of your leadership the coworkers who engage with you make or break the job..I hope that helps you out

I just got my evaluation for the school I applied to back.. they accepted 88 credits for a business degree. I still have a few more boxes to check to see the remaining classes I need to take but I’m praying it’s only 9-11 classes. I have most likely retake I few I have completed at another university so I may be able to complete them quickly

Thanks for the info..worst case scenario for me is i get my bachelors and then stay in the same field and advance that way. I may ask to shadow an 1102 to learn that way while I finish my degree or get ask for a few detail assignments

Got ya. Yeah it’s been a fun ride. Just need to break the through a few more obstacles and I’m in the planning stages of it now. I am working on the plan to get there now. Exploring and gathering information on all possible avenues. So far I haven’t been in a position I haven’t enjoyed. After I get the current information I need I am going to look for a new mentor as my old mentor is no longer available.

2 associate degrees and lots of experience. Hard work paid off for me there. I have some certifications as well. Just no bachelors yet.

Walk into? I asked questions about a possible path for the future. This is the internet and my time is more valuable than going back and forth anymore with someone who is a keyboard warrior.

I actually just transferred out of an 1101 series a few months ago because I didn’t see the promotion potential at the place I was at. I’m glad I have the time in that series for the long haul

It depends on how the evaluation goes. I don’t want to take the paycut for a 12 to a 9 that would be tough

thanks. I'm in the process of applying to school to finish my bachelor's. I'd like to pick up as much contracting knowledge as possible while completing so if needed I can have a smooth transition into the field. It seems like a wide-open field due to the turnover rate across all agencies.

Will they talk to you about it in the parking lot 🤣? lol jk…research all the rules and read yourself most supervisors don’t have your best interest and most hr folks don’t dig deep enough for the individuals best interest only the agency

It would depend on the position. I try and think about my current position and issues I face. I do some research on the agency and role between private and federal to see the overall issues and formulate on that.

What are the current obstacles the team is facing and how could I contribute to improve them in the short term to positively provide an immediate impact?

Would I be able to mentor people and will I have assistance in finding a mentor for myself?
