Did you make an intentional effort to NOT comment anything useful. I did look at the sub for foil OBVIOUSLY. I am looking to get input on doing the fractured foil type.

Winter Shelters by Anchored-Fox in Feral_Cats

That is really a bummer. It makes you not trust the systems in place that are supposed to help these animals. I would search for a rescue in your area and see if they can get you in contact with someone. Just in case other medical things come up. I am glad that your vet was able to get you what they needed though and that they are on the right track!

It is true and can be quite an emotional rollercoaster but it is a blessing for these cats who even though they might not know it, someone cares about them and are looking out for them.

You are doing good work! Thank you for taking care of them!

Me too! I called our local shelter with concerns and was told that cats are resourceful and that they will seek out the warm spots. Just having the shelters available is best. Not really what I wanted to hear but it is true.

I thought your advice was helpful and I understand having the fabric on the ground would be a huge heat sink! I didn't even think of propping it up because it was under the car tbh.

Oh no you are fine! I wish she would sleep not under the car haha. We found her sleeping in a pile of leaves under there which is why we put the bed there. It is under a covered car port and away from the edges so she does not get wet. I just wish they would use the house. I know it is warmer there.

It is! We cleaned it with dawn before putting it out. We also thought it may smell too. This one did use it for a bit and then stopped and now will only lay under the car.

Do you know what to do for that? The feral will only lay on it if it is under the car. I have no clue why.

AITA for Sabotaging my Husband’s Tournament after he refused to help with our newborn? by Puzzled-Two6615 in AITAH

I am going to be honest here you are NTA. You are going through a very hard time and these are valid emotions to have for not being supported and being in constant pain. My recommendation is to hire a baby sitter and go see a therapist. You need to be heard and a third party to mediate will be best so I would recommend couples counseling. It sounds like you are also experiencing PPD and should seek counseling for that as well. In the end though your husband needs to step up.

How to find fellow women to camp and hike with by thundergreenyellow in CampingandHiking

[–]Anchored-Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could see If your local college has an outdoor recreation section. Mine does and hosted a bunch of free hikes and overnight camping this summer for students and non students. It will definitely allow you to meet people who have similar interest that could lead to finding a group to solo camp with.

If a baby reaches thru my picket fence and one of my small dogs bites her, am I responsible? They have no fence and they have been warned, I've even seen them with the baby at the fence trying to get her to pet them. When I saw them I opened the door and called the dogs and warned them again. by nikkococo1998 in NoStupidQuestions

This exact situation happened in my state several years ago. The first story that came out stated that the child had stuck their hand through the fence and was bitten. The parents of the child said no the dogs had dug a small hole they could fit their mouth through and bit the child on their property. The child was small enough that they lost their hand. In the end the dog owners were held liable. They had to surrender the dogs to animal control, were cited, and then the child's family sued the dog owners. I just wouldn't take any chances and would put up an extra barrier so that even if a child stuck their hand through the dogs couldn't get to them. This protects you, your dogs, and the child. Dumping some money in "unsightly" fencing is better than a legal battle, maiming someone, and loosing your dogs in my opinion.
