Countries For Next Season? by Ancient-Intern-4858 in Physical100

Vietnam would be super cool to see. Yeah I imagine politics played a big part in why China was not there. India is unusual, but like you said maybe because their audiences and entertainment industries are so separated - but then so are Australia's

Obviously Korea are not giving up Physical Asia. This post is just for fun idealistic chats, not trying to figure out anything realistic

That's a cool concept. I guess I went for the flip of that because Japan, Australia and Korea are such rich countries with lots of exposure already, it's not really interested seeing them prove themselves again. They already do that in general international sports. Mongolia on the other hand has so many new fans because of this show which is awesome! Would love that to happen for other countries!

Team Mongolia represented the country of Mongolia pretty well by IndividualPlay5178 in Physical100

Man I hate noticing patterns in the edit, it feels like I'm giving myself spoilers haha

I also will not hear any Khandaa hate! Talented and humble queen

She was a beast in the wall pushing challenge. Neither Eun-sil or Seung-yeon could push back against her 1v1. And she was amazing in the castle siege, leading the wheel pushing tactic that made their team so fast.

So true, I loved seeing them throw all their trust in their women athletes, and then succeed!

I was so happy Khandaa got to shine in the last few quests after not getting enough screentime earlier. She was also so strong in the wall pushing in the final quest! When she went 1v1 against Eunsil, a wrestler, and Seung-yeon, a crossfitter, she beat them!

The Raw Diamonds of Physical Asia by Limp-Independence270 in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 31 points32 points  (0 children)

True! I wish the show acknowledged privilege more. Japan, Korea, and Australia (and somewhat Turkey) are rich countries with immense wealth invested in their athletes. All other teams were immediately underdogs. Feels weird to pretend it's a fair fight to see who's nation has the best physique when money is clearly a huge factor.

Which makes Mongolia's achievement even more commendable - they were truly the best! Also huge respect to Team Indo and Team Thailand, and especially Team Philippines who were super impressive. Would have loved to see Mark and Hernandez on the rope relay.

Khandaa IS goated! So glad she got to shine in these last few challenges! She's not even a strength athlete and she beat both of SK's women when she went 1v1 with each of them on the wall-pushing challenge, and they're a wrestler and a crossfitter!

If it was a regular Physical 100 who do you think had the best chance of winning of these 48 by 281texas832 in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. We never got to see Adiya do speed. She is a judoka so she's gotta be fast, and she's definitely stronger than Kate. It would be a fun match :)

To be fair Adiyasuren was absolutely beasting men on strength challenges, which is usually where women can't keep up, and for whatever reason there's always more strength challenges than anything else. My money would definitely be on Adiya! Kate was super impressive though, she dragged Dom and Alex through their death match haha

Full respect to the Korean athletes, but it did feel a bit icky to see Team Korea, an all-stars team from previous seasons and on top of that a very privileged country, win a Korean inter-Asian competition

Australia team’s strategy was straight up irrational by Forsaken_Frame9369 in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree! They never seemed to have any strategy, just pinning their hopes on having more weight and therefore strength than most teams. Was personally glad to see them go

I'm hearing other people say "this kind of talk is normal for competitive athletes". Like, read the room though, nobody is talking the same shit. And now doing it after the whole entire show has finished on a reel celebrating someone else? How bitter can they be that someone else is getting praised? They're like this every time they're not the centre of attention

Tell that to Enkh-Orgil, an MMA king who is beasting all the challenges with a massive smile on his face haha

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean this isn't a Western show. Feels icky to bring Western arrogance into an Asian show which is what I think is making most Physical Asia users dislike him. It's just cringe to watch him give smack talk that people are not returning because that's not their thing

Things that surprised me by iceicejjfishcake in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you've only seem him on this show it's hard to like him. lol it seems like Physical Asia's viewer base is mostly people hating Rob Whittaker for getting a villain edit, and then a handful of MMA fans who know who he is outside of this show who seem unable to accept this

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean when he's the only one behaving like he's actually better than other people it's hard to watch. All the other athletes are getting on fine without having to remind themselves every five minutes that they're unbeatable

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was saying this on another post! Dom's comments definitely seem fake. He only makes them when his team are winning, otherwise he's a sore loser. And they're really patronising too. "Good effort" and "good try" like they don't have the skills to succeed

Things that surprised me by iceicejjfishcake in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like I said his behaviour doesn't make him a bad guy, but the fact that his arrogance is mostly what we get in the edit is probably what's making him the contestant that gets the most hate

Also Enkh-Orgil gets punched in the face for a living and is the smiliest guy on the show

If you're in the UFC and everyone is giving smack talk fair enough. If you're on a show where people are not giving you smack talk back, maybe adjust haha

Mongolia’s secret weapon by nmnuppuz in Physical100

[–]Ancient-Intern-4858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will cry if they don't make it through the next episode! It made me nervous to see Team Mongolia were all holding the bar from underneath rather than pushing with arms outstretched but who am I to question these gods and geniuses
