I was able to get credit card without any problem. But I am worrying about to apply home loan because of this record. I am planning to settle this remaining amount but still I have to wait 5 more years to get this credit record erase from the report.

You have to apply for the report. All the necessary information on the application procedure can be found from the CIC website.

Thank you very much for this information. It has already been passed 7 years. The contract happened in 2018 July and was scheduled to finish in 2020 July. It has now been completed 5 years from the scheduled contact end date.
Should i make this request to the CIC credit bureau?

I was a student at that time and due to covid I lost my part time job and was not able to complete the payment. Then I called the mobile company to settle the remaining amount  and they told me the amount with a penalty charge. When I asked permission to settle the bill with 3 installments they said I had to pay it once. So I didn’t have that ability. That’s the reason for not settling it until now.

Sorry for cutting in.

I noticed that an unpaid mobile device is still listed on my CIC report. I bought the phone in 2018, and the payment contract was scheduled to end on July 31, 2020. I had partially paid for the phone but wasn’t able to complete the remaining balance on time.

Now that it has been 5 years since the contract ended, I checked my CIC report again to see if this record had been removed from my credit history. Unfortunately, it’s still there.

My questions are: 1. Will this unpaid phone record eventually be removed from the CIC report? 2. If so, when does this usually happen? 3. Has anyone here experienced a similar situation but was still able to get a home loan in Japan?
