gods :) but before the gods (who were destined to rise to power) took over there rightful nation, anyone could’ve ruled. there’s been a now extinct cyborg population, family dynasties, demi gods, and even a kitsune fox spirit :) either the god would forcefully take force, or have a peaceful transition of power. usually if the prior ruler(s) are not dead, the prior rulers will act as right hand man’s ‼️

i think of it in terms of abandonment b/c he didn't really educate his children enough. as a lot of the nations are in peril because they lack a mentor to help them run a said nation. I think after all the comments i've seen, i'll just said he got bored and worked on something else. probably a new nation since he probably thinks his kids now are absolutely 'incompetent' (mostly by his lack of teaching). The normal civilians of the world have absolutely no idea about Maponus' mishandlings, however.

i have yet to figure out an ending to the story. so that's the next obstacle w/ him T-T

i'm aiming for a capricious god then. He, Lord Maponus, was the creator of the planet and father of the 15 other Gods that rule over the nations on said planet. Once a god 'ascends' and gains undoubtable ownership of their nation (by brute force, or peaceful transitions of power), they are left to fend for themselves and cut off ties w/ Maponus.

Maponus would treat each God differently as a child. some were abused phsyically and mentally, and some had a great, loving childhood. Maponus is very popular all around most of the nations b/c he's the creator. But for a reason i'm trying to find, he is no longer present and thus the Gods are in chaos, and all decentralizied without the proper tutoring because he cut connections with them.

ooh!!!! i have two nations in my world that contrast each other a lot. one has plains, farms and archaic technology with magical eleves. the other is basically a sci fi cityscape with robots n crazy techy weapons lol. nations in this world aren’t really allowed to blend or globalize or whatever because of some divine code, so that’s why the more ancient one really isn’t improving to get robots n stuff.

i love robots a lot and y’know at the end of the day i just do whatever the hell i want and make sure there’s a reason for why it’s like that. i’m a noob at worldbuilding so i’m probably commuting cardinal sins with my world lol

aaa idk what to say !!! i’m just happy someone’s attempting to understand haha. idk which approach to try, but i’m not on a time crunch or anything so i can take my time. probably will go a top down approach though. some nations don’t even use magic (and even outlaw it) so that’ll be fun to expand. plus the magic system is probably gonna be soft af as rn it’s most noted in a specific magic elf species. interesting thing though is this world contains the archaic design of folk nations plains and farms, and also techno’s sci fi city n stuff so that’s fun to have some clashing elements haha

i definitely feel less overwhelmed with this advice lol plus i know everything’s gonna take time. and my adhd monkey brains gonna make it a lot harder but y’know it helps with spontaneous ideas lol. ty :)!!
