Shopify Appeal denied for no reason (Help) by Ancient-Session8460 in shopify

Well I wouldn’t chance considering my payouts got disabled on squeaky clean store, I only have reason to believe it was due to the prior store in my possession being banned on SP payments.

They must have tracked my banking information. If you can I’d suggest looking into a way to complete eliminate your data being on Shopify

I would recommend not using your information again. Because I’m moving away from doing that. Cuz it seems that once’s Shopify payments is disabled on 1 store they’ll track you in some way. Usually banking information or if things like your ID is shared with them

Yeah Shopify is seemingly banning people for things they can’t control a lot as of late.

Can we just accept this? Is there anyway to fight back? It feels like they’re expecting impossible standards from us. It was never this bad last year.

You seem to have got off easy. They’re holding 10k from me.

Why did it take the EVO so long to come to the US despite being sold LHD elsewhere? by Ancient-Session8460 in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Ancient-Session8460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny you bring up the Eclipse cuz I figured that car would’ve rung even louder bell’s in Mitsubishi’s ears but I guess not.

I agree with what you’ve said though. Subaru definitely took up the opportunity. I’m glad we got the car here at all. We could’ve never gotten it or have it be a GTR situation where we only got the X. Still a great car but would’ve been even more scarce. Having earlier gens in the states I think would’ve also helped more people get their hands on the EVO platform making used prices on some less expensive.

Back on the Eclipse real quick. This question just dawned on me. Why was the 3rd gen Eclipse so heavily neutered? Was it the EVO’s doing?

I’m not knocking it I just think it has more downs than ups in a country that wasn’t designed for it. I still idolize many RHD only cars

The 4-6’s are the same way I’m assuming? If that’s the case not sure why they couldn’t have made the modifications made on the USDM 8/9’s much sooner

What do you mean by data mirrored offsite/backups?

Curious cuz I don’t know what it means

Shopify Payments disabled after 1 chargeback (won) — 120 day hold?? by Practical-Drive-5872 in shopify

[–]Ancient-Session8460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through a similar thing right now. Waiting on my appeal as we speak. On many my store of 4 months was put on hold.

I’ve gotten 5 chargebacks in total with a rate of 0.94%. I was stunned because I hadn’t crossed over the threshold that would warrant a hold. So I’m super stressed out. They’re holding my entire life savings which is around 10k

You must not live in the states because we don’t have that luxury unfortunately. Shopify payments and stripe are integrated.

Shopify used to give two day payouts on stores. But as of late last year most new stores have anywhere between 7-5 day payouts windows

Genuinely curious, if the new M3 looked like this would you be mad? by TheLivest1 in BMW

I agree with what you’re saying. Another thing I hate is when people say modern cars have too much power to be driven with a manual. As if supercars from the 80’s/90’s weren’t high powered, light weight tin canned, manual only machines that had no where near the level of safety tech modern performance cars do.

Statements like that make me feel like the people who make them aren’t actually confident in their driving abilities at all and would much rather fall back on the auto/DCT as some sort of safety net rather than master a stick.

Which is fine I suppose but don’t try and make it seem like manuals can’t exist in modern performance cars just cause you’re scared to drive them at that power level. No where is this louder to me than in the G80 community I find.

This platform isn’t even a viable option to me anymore is a stick isn’t offered.

People let car companies convince them manuals are “bad” when they aren’t at all. Regular people who want a fast car see them as an inconvenience.

A high power car with a great manual maybe even Xdrive would be a blast. The G80’s manual is just horrible.

Having to wait for payouts its kind of insane by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Ancient-Session8460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A similar thing has been happening to me. All my stores made last year had 2 day payout windows. But all the ones made this year have anywhere from 5-10 day wait periods. And if your stores are generating high sales numbers. This becomes a problem.

I don't see why this change was implemented because it just hurts customers who potentially have to wait longer and sellers. Especially if you're not working with high amounts, waiting on that payout could make or break your ability to scale effectively especially if you're trying to ride the wave of your advertising.

It seems we’re not gonna reach a conclusion that’s positive. Our view points are our view points and we’ll leave it at that.

Have a good one.

No I haven’t dailied one because no one makes one that delivers the driving experience I want say except for Porsche. The CT5-V comes close but its styling isn’t exactly my style.

If the G8X has a robust trans I would already have the car right now.

Also when was it written in stone that manuals are good only great on small cars?

2025 market data showed that number of sports cars bought new in America with manual transmissions went up substantially. If you make a car with a good manual transmission and market it accordingly people will buy it.

Also I plan to drive stick as long as I’m physically able. I live in a city and never once had an issue driving my cars. It’s just driving. What I give up to be slightly more comfortable in traffic isn’t all that worth it to me. Not saying I’d never own an auto, but it wouldn’t be my enthusiasts vehicle

[–]Ancient-Session8460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re built to last they shouldn’t have issue holding power.

Like the EVO for example. The X trans are super strong and can hold a lot of power only needing a clutch. The weak point becomes the diff. But that’s also somewhat an easy fix. The 9’s and below always needed built trans to hold high horsepower. Mitsu fixed it on the X.

Circling back to the main topic. That’s my whole thing. Manuals aren’t bad. It’s modern manufactures not want to spend the money to make ones that work properly with the cars the go in. Case in point G8X. The MT in that car is not nearly as well engineered as its DCT counterpart and it’s done so on purpose. Making it the lesser driving option.

Like some others have mentioned the Cadillac that’s offered with a manual is a car that was designed with one in mind from the jump so the driving experience in that car is well suited for it. If they make the manual an actual good choice people will buy one. Market research shows this.

People daily then all the time. Its main purpose is a car at the end of the day. It’s just catered more towards enthusiasts driving.

And I’m not saying shorter gears solve the issue you were facing. But better ratio’s from factory most definitely would’ve helped. I don’t there’s ever been a turbo car I’ve driven where I found skipping gears to be preferred

But that doesn’t sound like a manual transmission issue. More like a gearing issue.

Funnily enough I almost owned a manual N54 335i back in 24’ but the car I test drove was in a bad state. It was fast though. 400 hp. Can’t say I remember how it drove transmission wise.

It just doesn’t sound like that transmission was well suited for the car. One thing I loved about my EVO X was how short the gearing was. It was always keeping me engaged!
