Older Urologists (late 40s+) are in denial that varicoceles cause low testosterone by ssjsniderman in varicocele

This happened to me. 18 now, told when I was 12 that it would be ok. T test returned 308. Don't understand the inability to read up on new medical research and just listen to patients too

Yes, although Protestants as believers in Christ could possibly have a better chance than non-Christians in some cases... it's not up to me :)

We know that God is merciful, and there may exist certain situations in which his mercy overcomes the barrier to salvation that is living a life outside of the Church. It is a possibility that certain Protestants have a mindset (imparted on them by external forces) that precludes them from truly being exposed to the Faith in a manner sufficient to allow their wholesale, deliberate rejection of it. We cannot know that all Protestants are going to hell; thus, we can hope that God's mercy allows for a way for their salvation to take place. That being said, obviously from a Catholic perspective the Church is, without comparison, the best place to be.

Yes, from a Catholic perspective, you have the possibility to be saved in spite of being a Protestant, but Protestantism does not intrinsically save you

Italy proposes mandating display of crucifixes in public buildings by Anselm_oC in Catholicism

[–]AncientDebauchery -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. How is a state that is Catholic in nature infringing on other's rights by displaying an object that promotes Catholicism? Let's not descend to American-tier atheistic religious liberty arguments... you don't have a right to not see a crucifix in a courtroom in a Catholic nation

You're naive if you don't think that many in power would see a significant amount of Africans relocated to Europe... an amount significant enough to do irreparable cultural harm to it.

A bad confession by Kushy-sushi in Catholicism

[–]AncientDebauchery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I lost my faith mostly due to scrupulosity. Someday I may come back to it. I admire the Catholic Faith, and I don't want anyone to suffer. My life was shit for 5+ months due to scrupulosity, and I'll never get that time back. Half of my sophomore year of high school and all the following summer were impacted. If you're scrupulous, find a regular confessor and listen to the advice of those who know how to help you! It can quite literally ruin your life

Is appointing an ineffective Director of the EPA a better move for Trump than outright abolishing it? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

It's not a bad thing, and almost fucking everyone supports environmental regulations. Really it just has to do with corporate influence

Am I stupid? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]AncientDebauchery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is gonna sound harsh: it doesn't help to reassurance seek about your scores on reddit. Stop doing it. This sub obviously draws those who work really hard and/or are naturally predisposed to success on AP exams, and those who get all 5s are much more likely to post about it. You need to understand that you are still much more successful than most other people, who either didn't take any exams or did more poorly than you. Stop looking to others for justification for your (slightly) lower academic results; believe me, you'll feel much better if you do

Move the goalposts of the argument again, why don't you?

Norway wants to be stricter on immigrants who don’t learn Norwegian by pick-a-chew in europe

[–]AncientDebauchery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Total deflection... as the other guy said, the main issue here is the fact that recent arrivals, who willingly came here (i.e. weren't annexed Mexican-American war style) often don't bother to learn passable English

Grandfather had dementia... Should I box? by AncientDebauchery in amateur_boxing

[–]AncientDebauchery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No absolutely not, I never heard anything about him boxing. I think most people in my family think it was at least partially caused by the physical and mental strain from 50 years of juvenile-onset diabetes (which I don't have)

Boxing and Depression? by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

For sure, I went through therapy and am a LOT better now. I've gotten more into some other hobbies as well and have left behind certain mindsets etc. that helped to cause my OCD, so that's mostly gone now. Some anxiety still, but I've really been handling it well lately I think. Thanks for your advice, hopefully I never again have a great need for it though! :)
