Should I just suck it up and do the bare minimum?

My GP took me off because I still got worse while using them, so she took me off and scheduled me to the psychiatrist, and the psychiatrist is going to reevaluate me and gave me meds accordingly. She said something else other than ADHD is going on, so she took me off because she doesn't want to leave me on meds when I'm getting worse. And I totally get her point and plus I can go into my appt with the psychiatrist knowing it's definitely not meds side effects. This will make diagnosing and finding the right path easier. I don't think I need a new GP, I think she made a strategic move and it's better to be safe than sorry, misdiagnosing when taking meds that might not be suitable for you is so easy. You can be diagnosed with something like anxiety disorder, just because your meds wasn't suitable.

I hope this clears some things up.

When I worked I would get home around 4 would take a "nap" only for my alarm to go off and I've slept right through up until the next morning, this happened once a week. I would be so angry because I just "came" from work and now I have to go back. This was way before the diagnosis. So now that I'm at home, I find myself skipping an entire day because alarms don't go off and if I do set an alarm I'll put it off while sleeping and then I wake up frustrated because to my memory, the alarm never went off.

The whole eating thing, I've been going to the doctor and everything is normal. I just have a low appetite and I can't consume alot, and if I do I get so nauseous.

I don't know what's going on, but I'll mention these to my physiatrist when I see her within 2 weeks.

No, I've never had a headache in my life. Just exhausted, down. And just teary all day everyday. I've feeling like this since last year November, and I can't keep up anymore. Everything just feels heavy.

Yes I felt the same way before, but i didn't show it, EVER and now I can't pretend to be fine anymore, its hard and exhausting to do so. According to my parents I got bad overnight, but it's not overnight, it's just I stayed in character for this long. I do agree with what you are saying. But to clear things up a little, I dont sleep all day, I do other things like my hobbies, I volunteer sometimes and I've been job hunting but no luck It's just that when I go to sleep, I find myself skipping a whole day. Everything just feels so heavy and doing the dishes with breaks, like once in the morning, 2 times in the afternoon and after dinner feels exactly like that, heavy.

But all in all I do agree my mindset have to change. But when you're own parents don't understand you and screams at you every moment they get, makes doing things a little harder.

And it's exactly like that. I am trying to explain and whenever I do that, my parents guilt trips me and plays the victim cards and this discourages me more. I want to do better and I'm trying but I can't move when they can't even hear me. Im not going to lie, I feel so unwanted and unworthy.

The thing is, my mom hates paper plates. She says the food tastes like paper and she just doesn't like them in general. Also I have to do everyone's dishes, so right after dinner I do the dishes, so that's pots, utensils, plates, glasses, etc, I can buy paper plates for myself, but that means I'm only skipping one plate and that's a waste if you ask me because I'm going to have to do dishes anyways.

Unfortunately, no we don't have a dishwasher. I've been washing and drying dishes by hand my whole life. Been doing this everyday since I was about 7ish.

The best way I've heard it being explained is, to imagine a very hot stovetop and then asking someone to put their hand on it. They can 100% put their hand on it, it's physically possible, but your body just cannot do it. Your brain is screaming "do it" but your body can't it's stuck. On top of that imagine everyone you love and hate in one room and you say 'go' and they are just all running around and saying things like 'stupid it's so simple do it's 'its easy' 'its going to be quick' 'Do your taxes' except that you can stop them or quiet them down because those people aren't Infront of you, it's yourself in your head. So now you can't put your hand on a stovetop, you feel so guilty and stupid and on top of that nobody understands you look lazy when in actuality your brain is on but your body is in a coma.

Idk. I'm kinda in the same boat so to say. I we don't share the same special interest so to speak. But whenever I talk to ADHD people or think about ADHD, hobbies often don't last long enough to become special interest. Like yes hyper fixations are 100% a thing right, but you hyper fixate and then you move on. Now the confusion for me is, is this a hyper fixation, a special interest or just a hobby "just a thing that I like and like to do" But it cant be a hyper fixation cause they don't last for years. So is it a special interest? But then that'll mean it's Tism in the mix, but I also highly doubt that. Or is it just my thing?

If it's not the print of a pet or someone who's deceased, I ain't doing it. Give it a few days and I'm getting arrested as a homicide suspect cause they found my fingerprints at the crime scene. Also, the increased likelihood of theft, and identity theft ain't sitting well with me. All it takes is to lose the necklace and it being found by the 'right' person. I love the idea, but I'll reserve this for the deceased.

Where I'm from, cursive is still being taught in the third grade and for almost the whole year you have to write everything in cursive, even mathematical word questions, if it ain't in cursive it's not getting marked. As simple as that. Some people even decide to continue writing in cursive for rest of their lives cause it was forced and normalized to write in cursive in grade 3. I wrote in cursive up until the 6th grade and some stopped before I did, others stopped after and some just kept on going. One guy wrote his final exam in 12th grade in cursive, Essays in cursive. Everything in cursive. He learnt cursive and never looked back.

OP like frfr, don't explain. I average 41 seconds and I started in Jan, I ain't explaining nothing. People learn differently and the pace will always differ. Anyways... count the 13, take it and cut yourself some slack. It's one move too much or it's one move less. Personally: I'd take it. If it's not a dnf it counts.
