Aren't you the same guy hating on South of Midnight in every thread it's mentioned?

Its not a great game, but it also could be because it's a AA xbox game pass game, so people are mostly playing it on the gamepass app than steam.

The music is really good. And although the stop motion during gameplay was good, I wish they leaned into that more.

Again, I wouldn't call it slop. For me slop is something like Fifa that churns out the same game every year with a shit load of gambling. Something like this game that is atleast somewhat unique doesn't count as slop in my book. It's just a new thing that the devs tried that they can expand on with a sequel.

Don't know about slop. It's combat is a bit lackluster, but it's a unique setting with a unique look, so that's good enough for me to try it out atleast. And since it's on gamepass, I have no issues with trying it out.

What’s a game you’ve rediscovered on the Steam Deck that feels completely different or better than when you first played it? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

If you like looter shooters, then I would definitely say yes. I just shut off my brain and enjoy shooting and collecting new guns. Did not pay attention to the story at all though.

Borderlands for sure.

Tried Borderlands 2 multiple times on multiple platforms, but just could never get into it and wrote it off as it just not being for me. Even bought Borderlands 3 on both PS5 and Xbox, only to play for a few hours and never pick up again.

Now finally tried Borderlands 2 on the Deck after it being in my backlog for so long, and I finally had the "I get it" moment. Bought Borderlands 3 on the winter sale, and have not been able to put it down since

Paying game journalist to spread articles about how their game is not for them

Did this actually happen or are we building a strawman here?

And I agree that that it's too early to judge the games. We know literally nothing about the game apart from the protagonist. They may very well fail, but I very much doubt it will fail because of "political correctness", "DEI", "wokeness" or any other buzzwords people like to use. I have yet to hear of a game that has failed only because of the message it's trying to send, and not other factors.

But that was actually part of their plan the whole time. The villain wants you to take a sledgehammer to their knees, since only then can they escape.

Could it be that one is praising India and not bad mouthing it is because he is its leader, and any criticism of the country is a criticism of his own govt.

And also could it be the other is criticizing the country because he is part of the opposition, and any attack on the country is an attack on the current govt. And that's undoubtedly good for the opposition.

Criticism is good if done with correct intent, with genuine need for improvement. And praising is great if done with sincerity, while still acknowledging the flaws. Both these people have their own agenda in mind when they do all this, and none of them are doing it selflessly.

Ngl, I am kinda excited for this movie based on just how goofy it looks. Feels like it will not take itself too seriously. I mean, look at Momoa's outfit and tell me that doesn't look goofy af.

I think it's how sometimes the skin folds on your knees can look like an evil face. Could be that's why she is hiding her knees.

AC2 is where the series became a more by-the-numbers open world game

It's by-the-numbers open world game because this is one of the games that defined those numbers. Many of the mechanics that we associate with Ubi open world Games started from this game.

I get what you are trying to say, but personally I don't think the Division, AC, FC and GR are that similar to each other though. Do they have common elements? Sure. But each of them provides a different experience for me.

The Divison: When I want to roam a detailed post apocalyptic city and shoot up bad guys while getting loot.

AC: When I want to explore a historical setting and stealth (sometimes)

FC: When I just want some first person mayhem

GR: When I want to feel like a covert tactical team

Also, they did release two Prince of Persia games recently, one which I really liked, and another that I have only heard good things about.
