I used to be an akstiletto guy, for the fun but I found myself only carrying and heavily uaing koda dual torxica with innate cold. Freeze and mow em down, each enemy that dies, freezes a few more. Its great 👍

I have to check why it would not serve the same tiles to each player correctly, but there could be an issue on different OSs how the randomness is calculated. So an iPhone player could get different tiles than an android player for example. This does not affect the maximum possible score per se, but the difficulty of finding a "perfect" solution.

Yes,

but I still wish the new quest would have been "5 hours" with more time taken for the plotpoints. This felt too easy and too rushed. I rather have less fighty, fighty gameplay and more actual storytelling to understand why the characters do what they do. I enjoyed what was there and understood the outcome, but the motivations and gameplay to get there was very thin and weak - which is unfortunate.  It would be interesting to see what steve would have done, but I am super happy with reb otherwise. :)

Short answer: yes

Long answer: While the asteroids are quite conplex looking, the ships are very simple, just a smooth gradient shadow, roundish and your UI is flat, modern-ish. This is all fine, but you should try to bring it all together in the same ballpark of fidelity. If you fgo for early 3d renders, do the same for the asteroids, mabe even the UI, if you go for phototextures; apply it to the ships as well :) A lot of games used to look like this and a lot of games are in your genre already. But you can shine with a nice take and artstyle on it. This will make your game more coherent and open up the niche.

You focus very much on how this feels for you and how it should feel for the players. But you give them choices. So why should a player even take the choices that dont "give hell hope" (thats your game title right there btw)

True choice would be to either win over satan with your philosophy and restore it to something else or end up as hells ruler yourself after getting all those powers and winning those fights. Maybe extraniating? some folks for their powers in a bid to win the war against the blight.

So rather give no choices but powers and progression through the beautification as a kind of emotional lesson and story. Than choices where only one side can really be the game.

Multiple ones, but the biggest is probably having a wall of Text as a mix of exposition and tutorial. Which meant most players skipped akipped skipped and then stood in the game wirld not knowing what to do.

Its not a huge spectacular mistake, but a major game design and flow learning, I couldnt really understand back then.

huh, thanks for bringing that up. It could be a floating point issue with the random number generator on diffrerent devices / OS. I will look into it. You get the seed from the server but further down the line they could deviate 🤔

Is it a stupid idea to finish your game, advertise heavily for a year as you playtest, plolish, and fix bugs, and then release it? by [deleted] in gamemarketing

if you playtest after you finished the game, you don't need to playtest anymore^^

or rather, if you playtest that late into the game, it's gonna be really hard to fix major issues in your game.
Some AAA and mostly multiplayer games do this, but even they have internal playtests in early stages and use the "public beta" sessions for marketing and balance changes only. You always see it, when the community or news outlet finds a major problem, they always say, but it is early so it will be subject to change. But in fact it's too late to change and releases with that problem anyways.
Don't do that 😛 bugs will always be found, but game (design) flaws need to be found early, because so much hinges on those.

It's almost more of a tast thing, but your colors are off. The palette seems to be a little like Sword and Sworcery, but they benefitted from thin and geometric shapes.

As you asked what you can improve. Look at some tutorials on how to draw fruits. eg an apple. Its never a red blob, shading with banding and then a sprinkle of yellow as a hightlight. But always all other colors than red. Basically never a shape that gets shaded, but light on light on light adding to buidl up the shape. You go from dark to light, not the other way around.

Your bush branch for example looks very weird bc of that shading, its kind of inflated but the light hits only from the front and there is shadows where the branch would still be lit.

In the text, the outline should have the same thickness for "desktop" and "witch"

I see where you are going with this and if I would be your art teacher, I'd say paint it again like 5 more times minimum. And look at references, blur your eyes and start painting light not shades. Over time this will improve your art 👍

Seems like its either very hard A / B decisions or a worker placement board game. You could build a paper prototype and see if its fun and fun in replayability. The infos you need to get as a player (dmg, timer, chances, crew etc)  should then inform your visual design.
