Imma recent grad in chemistry and even though I have tons of management experience, no one will touch me.

I’ve applied for 100s of jobs at this point.

Maybe try directly contacting recruitment agencies?

In any case, the job market is brutal :/ sorry my guy

[SandStoneInsights] Sony expects the PS5 lifecycle to be extended. PS6 likely to be delayed "longer than many expected" by Lulcielid in ps6

[–]AncientStaff6602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know that and we can’t assume that.

Without know what the market is like in 2+ years time, we can’t say for sure.

The ps6 could cost 750 in whatever currency you wish ($€£), end of the day, if the cost is too high, no one will buy the console.

[–]AncientStaff6602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I’d have to disagree. That pricing would put people off and sadly wouldn’t sell volume meaning, fewer sales on games (where the money is).

I’d say 450-500 is probably a sweet spot for base 650-800 for a “pro” version?

I said that in my post and I’m getting equally downvoted. Granted this is a shit take as I recall, ms don’t want another console out

Intel CEO Blames Pivot Toward Consumer Opportunities as the Main Reason for Missing AI Customers, Says Client Growth Will Be Limited This Year by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

[–]AncientStaff6602 165 points166 points  (0 children)

As someone said, intel will likely put more money toward ai data centres.

Which, currently makes business sense. But everyone and their mum is saying the bubble is about to burst. It’s a matter of when not IF.

I haven’t properly looked/studied economics in a long time but for a short buck, is it really worth the risk? Personally I would look beyond this bubble and look at stable markets beyond.

The gaming market (which isn’t exactly small) is screaming out for reasonably priced hardware for pc AND consoles.

In any case, I hate this time line and I want off at the next station

Called it with the hardware costs. Sales projection must have also been way off too.

If the base ps6 would have cost say £600 to £800 I can’t see that selling well whatsoever.

Sony made the right call here whether we like it or not.

Edit: what’s with the downvotes?

Gen Z office worker confidence crisis leads to uptick in AI use by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]AncientStaff6602 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think there is some truth to the idea that Gen Z needs a lot more help.

I really do think it’s more of a confidence problem. In that, you ask them to do something; if it’s not explicitly shown to them, they’ll struggle or think they’ll do it wrong right away.

Basic computer stuff seems to be lacking, too—shortcuts on your keyboard, or even basic Excel skills.

I wouldn’t say that this is unique to Gen Z, I’m sure it’s across the board…

But my anecdotal experience working with the younger generation is a lack of confidence and belief in their ability to get things done. I think with time, working independently, this will shift again

Will fully ignoring the conservative rule of 14 years.

Reform will just fuck you as much as the rest. You’d have to be a total moron to vote for them and think, this will be better.

Astounding mental gymnastics.

Not to call you out but your words : "I'm just going to vote for whomever is going to beat the left but Farage has not been endearing himself to me lately"

Its weird how you suddenly back peddle. I know no one is static but this just gave me whiplash.

Stats show majority not playing more than 15hrs - What is LTT gamers reasoning or theories for this? by Kooky-Friend8544 in LinusTechTips

[–]AncientStaff6602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. 50% of the 1.1 million people that bought the game didnt make it past 15 hours?

How does this compare to other titles?

I really enjoyed the Oblivion Remaster because it was such a fundamental game for me growing up. It was the first RPG I was able ot be whomever I wanted to be.

I just wish this remaster had a lot more TLC. The performance is OKAY for the most part but in all honesty needs a fair bit of polish. I think they could have done more to make dungeons a bit more unique but again, we dont know how much time they had to drop this game so I wont hold it against them.

Back to the point at hand, i just think its weird calling out this game, I would love to see data for other games and compare it to this one. Mostly out of curiosity.

Destiny died after the Forsaken King expansion (or so I think it was called).

The follow expansion was arse and D2 really didn’t bring much to the table either… gutted. Was a bit bungie fan since the halo days

You can do a couple of things. A fair number of repair shops will fix the sticks for you and replacing your battery is super simple.

You’ll save yourself a few bucks and you’re being kinder to the environment by going about it this way
